Sad news even if we all knew the day would come.
Real soon, there are going to be no living surviviors left to tell the first hand stories that every generation needs to hear, to never forget!

The world lost a giant today. His work aside, Mr. Wiesel was an advocate for peace that we could all learn valuable lessons from.
From his book Night, which was about his stay in a concentration camp: "Never shall I forget that night that first night in camp that turned my life into one long night. Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent sky. Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever. Those moments that murdered my god and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes. Never." Pretty powerful stuff. |

I have personally met and spoken with 5 or 6 survivors of the Nazi concentration camps. One was a friend of my father's. My father was with the US Army troops that liberated Buchenwald.
Every person that I met that had survived those camps reacted differently. Most were either vindictive or still living in disbelief of what they saw and lived through. Their joy in life was taken -- they were very unhappy people. Elie Wiesel was their angel of revenge however he was not their deliverer. RIP |

i watched a documentary about the survivors of the Hollocaust, they're scarred for life. It not fair that life handed them some shitty cards like every other person who was murdered, but then again life is not fair.
