All the time. I also get red, dry eyes as well.

2 solutions:

1) Get some Visine - it helps with the straining as well as the dryness and verall stress o nthe eyeballs.

2) Look away from the screen every 10-20 mins for a good minute (f you can) and stare into something solid 20 feet away - this will help the muscles in your eyes relax

I spend most of my time looking at the screen and I'm using Genteal to relieve the dry eyes problem

Look out of the window, or take a break, go into the garden or outside & focus on something very far away. Then focus on a few things different distances. Do it every hour or so & you should be alright

Just think of the VR & how many of the population will be blind later in life

I can recommend computer eyewear to protect your vision

Take a break. Walk around and change your scenery. Look out the window or at something far away to change your focus.

Get a checkup. You might need glasses.

Reduce the brightness of your screen. If the wall behind your computer is dark, light it up to reduce the contrast between your bright screen and your dark background.

If you aren't doing graphics, try changing the color temperature of your monitor once in a while.

Good like to your eyeballs!

  1. I have multiple monitors on my desk so I move my focus between them a lot
  2. My monitors average 32 inches away from my eyes
  3. I wear glasses and I buy one pair a bit weaker for working at my desk

I think moving the focus of your vision matters a lot.
I have the optometrist check the strength of my prescription at 30-36 inches -- my average working distance for a lot of the day
