What do you think this guy is up to?
I've been running my own paysite(s) since 2008, and this week I had a totally new experience.
After posting a casting call several places, Craigslist, Fetlife, etc. I get a message from a guy asking if my business is headquartered at the address listed on my 2257 page. Now, I probably should of just ignored him. But my first instinct is to be polite, and I tend to assume the best in people, so I replied and explained that no, the address is simply the address of a lawyer who maintains my files. I don't personally do business at that location. Shortly thereafter, he writes back, telling me that, essentially, the address I listed doesn't exist. Now, I admit, my 2257 disclaimer page isn't something I check every single day, so I went, looked at it, verified the information, and even called the attorney's office to make sure again, everything was correct. To make sure, I looked it up on street view. Everything was good, the address clearly exists. So, I write the guy back and tell him this. I am still trying to be friendly at this point, as I really have no reason not to be. But, I was getting very curious about why this guy was so very interested in my 2257 documentation. So I asked, when I wrote him back, why he needed this in the first place. This is just some guy on Fetlife, and as far as I'm aware this isn't how the DOJ conducts record inspections. He writes back almost immediately, failing to answer my question about why he wants this information. Instead, he is very hostile. Threatening me with arrest and to "elevate the situation" if I don't "comply" with his demands. I reply to him again, this time my response is fairly curt. I simply state that the information listed is correct. I also state that my 2257 information is none of his business. That unless he is with the DOJ, there is no reason why he should be concerned about any of this. Since this, he has written back numerous times. I haven't replied anymore as I have nothing more to say to him, but his messages keep getting more and more threatening. He claims to moderate several sites and groups and is going to have me banned from them all, but, especially concerning is that he was able to determine my real name and an address I lived at a few years ago when I initially registered my LLC. It is a bit alarming, to say the least. But, also perplexing. What do you think this guy is up to? He claims to be a photographer, and operates in the same general vicinity, so maybe he is just super territorial or something? I really don't understand it. |

He needs to identify himself. You don't share anything..ever.. unless you know who youre talking to. Official proof of identification or GTFO.

Fetlife profile, Sounds like a crazy stalker. Maybe wants to track down a model's real name. May want to track one down or embarrass her by sending shit to her and her family.
If you have his information, I would store it away. Maybe do a google search to see if there are any pictures of him. If he gets physically threatening, maybe talk to your attorney about a restraining order. Good chance cops already know who he is. Good luck my gfy friend.

I agree with the sentiment of him having to prove idenitification.
But even that can be a false red-flag, you can get a letter from a legit attorney but it doesnt mean they have something or that you HAVE to comply. Do you have anything you need to worried about? If all legality was taken care of..and if he continued without clarifying the situation id maybe threaten harrassment/ calling the police or something |
