Trump camp files lawsuit to block Michigan recount

How unDemocratic. What is Trump afraid of? Anyone else find this suspicious?

-------

The Michigan recount initiated by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is on hold.

Attorneys for President-elect Donald Trump filed an objection Thursday with the Michigan Bureau of Elections, a move that under Michigan law halts the recount until the complaint is resolved.

The objection in Michigan comes one day after the Wisconsin Republican Party filed a Federal Election Commission complaint arguing that Stein is pushing a recount there to benefit former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

I for one am thrilled that Trump will hasten the decline of this toilet bowl aka USA.

It will soon be just another 3rd world country buying everything made in China.

I recommend you learn Chinese ASAP.

"In a statement, Progress Michigan said Hall?s conviction is proof that former Green Party candidate Jill Stein?s recount effort should continue in Michigan.

?Donald Trump has made claim after claim calling the integrity of the election into question, but his Michigan campaign had no problem hiring a staff member facing election law charges,? executive director Lonnie Scott said. ?The fact that the Trump campaign and the Michigan Republican Party embraced Brandon Hall is just one more reason to recount and audit the vote in Michigan.?

Wait a second..... What's going on here?

If Trump has nothing to fear, why wouldn't he just let the recount happen? The man guilty of "election fraud" was an older case, and very limited in scope, so that's not it.

Is Trump afraid of something?

I surely do not want to jump on the conspiracy theory bandwagon here, but something isn't right. ALL of the polls had Clinton ahead by a healthy amount. ALL of them. Was EVERYONE wrong here or is there something else going on here?

They hired Brandon Hall for the Trump campaign in Michigan knowing he was being tried for 10 counts of voter fraud, and today he's been found guilty.

Trump knowingly hired a voter cheat to his Michigan campaign, while publicly claiming the election is rigged, but now says there is nothing to see here when a recount is requested

Usually those screaming the loudest about something are the ones whom have something to hide. Trump claimed over and over that it was rigged and still tries to claim it was rigged in areas "HE" didn't win.. Meanwhile no issues in a state he hired guy whom was charged with election fraud and became a felon due to those charges..

Seems like a duck, quacks like a duck.. It's usually a duck.. Besides that we've already seen the "vote padding" by officials in favor of Trump. That in and of it's self shows biased fraud at the official's level..

Not the establishment.

People like Trumps guy in Michigan that was just found guilty of 10 counts of voter fraud. Guys like that would stuff ballots etc. Trump has been corrupt for decades as his lost & settled lawsuits show.

What is odd is that Team Trump is blocking the recount in Michigan but not Wisconsin. Why not both? What makes Michigan more important?

Doesn't add up.

Well, "Team Trump" was worried enough to try to stop it.
0.22% WTF?
I live in Michigan and would be more than willing to pay my fair share as a voter.

What if Trump lost by 0.22% what would you say?

I'd say it's 11,000 votes; not going to overcome that many votes.

So now Trump is trying to block this in all states?

That's not suspicious at all. What is he hiding?

Can you imagine if they did a recount and discover massive fraud? OMG.

It's seriously entirely possible they don't know how to count. When sued by students for poor education and delapitated schools, the Republican Michigan attorney general filed for case dismissal stating that "students have no right to literacy."

I figured it out today... It seems he barely won some of these states. While still unlikely to change anything, the Democrats want this because it's a "chance" however small it is, and Trump is trying to stop it because there is a chance it will change things.

It's not like it's taking much money for Drumpf to send his legal team out there...

During the campaign Clinton said she hasn't driven a car in over twenty years. Think about it - She was first lady, her husband was president, and they will have Secret Service protect until they both die (or at least Bill dies). They drive her every where - no need for her to drive, no need to even own a car.

Frankly, this gave me pause. Someone who hasn't so much as driven a car in the past twenty years is so far removed from reality and part of the social elite that I have a hard time seeing them understand what ordinary Americans face every day.

Then we have Trump who most likely spent more on this meal than I have ever spent on a single meal in my entire life.

Hillary Clinton is not removed from reality, she's just not a good campaigner. She's a workhorse, that's why she was 73% approval rating as Secretary of State. The Clinton Foundation has put her closer to the needs of Americans, and those around the world, than most will be in their entire lifetime.

Trump lost the election by over 2,500,000 votes and counting. Hillary Clinton related far better to the majority than Trump, just not the racists in the rust belt.

ALL of these people do not represent the average American. McCain, Romney, Clinton, Trump.... All of these people are multi millionaires many times over. These are people who have never really known what it is like to fall on hard times. They have never known what it's like to search the cushions of the couch so they can afford to have a burger at McDonald's.

They just don't have an understanding of what it is like to be an average American. Trump and his kids have no idea what it's like to be a public school because they've never been to one. Same with most of the others - Romney, for example, was in public school until 7th grade and then went to private schools. You think his kids went to public school?

Our public schools right now are fucked. We have this common core nonsense. No one understands it - Not the politicians, not the school administrators, not the teachers, not the parents, and most important of all not the kids. This started when my kid entered high school. Now we have this new person who will be in charge of the education department who wants to more or less end public schools. We are going to have an entire generation of kids that will not get a proper grade school / high school education because of this nonsense, which will have massive ramifications twenty or thirty years from now when that generation is running the country.

Things are fucked because American corporations have been becoming multinationals for the last decade and moving jobs out of America the last 2 decades. So the money for schools, roads, etc. isn't there like it used to be.

Trump owns a multinational and wants to cut their American corporate taxes. So it's only going to get worse and wont get better until someone like Trump isn't in office.

Sure. They are desperate and this gives them the biggest straw to grasp at. If they are able to flip one or more of these states with a recount they then hope they can get enough faithless electors to vote against Trump and Hillary could still win.

It's a pipe dream, but they likely figure they might as well try.

Trump Campaign and GOP Allies in Full Legal Panic as Recounts Could Create Electoral College Crisis | Alternet

Quote:
“Michigan: More than 75,000 Michiganders cast no vote for president in the 2016 election—almost twice as many “under-votes” than were cast in the 2012 election (49,840). The high number is a red flag, especially when considering that these “under-votes” were concentrated in the heavily Democratic precincts of Detroit.”

The Greens also said the touch-screen voting systems in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were especially vulnerable to hacking, and even cited a tweet by Edward Snowden affirming that point. “Hacking voting machines: not that difficult. Hiding a secret deviation in votes from after-the-fact statistical analysis: nearly impossible.

“In Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, approximately two-thirds and one-tenth of voting, respectively, is done through touch-screen machines (DREs) that are susceptible to manipulation and hacking (and which many states have banned or are phasing out),” their summary said. “In Pennsylvania, whose voting system has been called a 'nightmare scenario' by one leading expert, the machines do not even dispense a paper ballot or receipt. As a result, the only way to conduct a full, foolproof audit is through a 'forensic analysis' – opening each machine to look for evidence of tampering or voter manipulation.”

“Optical scan voting – the method for all voting in Michigan, 85 percent in Wisconsin and one-third in Pennsylvania – is considered an improvement over DREs, but can still be breached without detection,” they continued. “The machines suffer from glitches and are prone to mistakes, including misreading voters’ markings. For example, in a recount of Ohio votes initiated by then Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb in 2004, almost 90,000 votes were left uncounted due to a machine calibration error. As such, manual hand recounts – as opposed to simply running ballots back through the machine – are essential, and considered the gold standard of recounts by election integrity experts.
