Iraq official: ISIS launched chlorine gas attacks in Mosul

BAGHDAD ? An Iraqi military officer says Islamic State militants have launched a gas attack in a newly-liberated area in western Mosul.

The officer with the anti-terrorism forces said Saturday that the attack occurred the night before in the al-Abar neighborhood, when IS fired a rocked loaded with chlorine. He said seven soldiers suffered breathing problems and were treated in a nearby field clinic.

The officer spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to release information.

U.S.-backed Iraqi forces are currently battling IS militants in the more densely-populated western half of Mosul. Iraqi officials say more than half of western Mosul has been retaken. The extremists were driven out of the eastern half of Mosul, Iraq?s second-largest city, in January.

If that would have happened in Syria, Bashar El-Assad would hasve been designatyed as the ciul;p^rit and Trumpy would be bombing somewhere there ....

My partners Pakistani friend living in the UK, who´s family lives in both the UK & Pakistan, father a doctor, mother in legal, known for 20 years says the MOAB bomb the US used the other day on the border wasn´t even IS area...

As it did not happen in Syria, we do not talk about it ... If it was in Syria, Assad would be blamed ....

as for the veto, it was not NATO but the UN security council .
They vetoed it as the first part was accepting Assad as the culprit. ( just like if a rapist must plead guilty before getting the results of the rape kit ... illogical ).

“After the fact, they announced that, a few days ago, samples had somehow been collected at the site of the incident and delivered to a laboratory, which, as far as I understand, is not certified by the OPCW itself. It’s unclear why such clumsy actions are being taken.

“If we can make sure the members of the expert team are unbiased and professional, we are sure that the results of the investigation will be objective, and those who are guilty of this act will have to be held responsible,” Lavrov stated.

Why should Russia agree to USIS investigation?...What is there to investigate?
