U.S. threatens military force against North Korea

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Wednesday that North Korea's actions were "quickly closing off the possibility of a diplomatic solution" and the United States was prepared to defend itself and its allies.

"One of our capabilities lies with our considerable military forces. We will use them if we must, but we prefer not to have to go in that direction," Haley told a U.N. Security Council meeting on Pyongyang's recent intercontinental ballistic missile launch.

She said the United States would propose new U.N. sanctions on North Korea "in the coming days." She also warned that Washington was prepared to cut off trade with countries trading with North Korea in violation of U.N. resolutions.

Ok that's watching closely, no idea they had it, no idea where it was going to be launched from. And there's 25 million people, within reach of an estimated 10,000 + weapons already pointed at them.

Of course all this presumes NK has totally played by UN restrictions on chemical and biological weapons and does have them deployed throughout the USA already.

I find it highly unlikely that the US would consider military action against North Korea.

The first problem is North Korea has done nothing to justify military action against them. There is nothing wrong with NK having nuclear weapons or an intercontinental ballistic missile. North Korea can beat his fists on his chest all he wants, but he has no reason to launch an attack on the United States and he damn well knows the United States would destroy him if he ever did.

The other problem is the United States does attack North Korea, North Korean troops will pour over the Demilitarized Zone. The North Korean military is less than impressive, but it's huge. No one wants a major war between NK and SK.

This is exactly why we have handled the problem with North Korea the same way for the past forty or fifty years - No justification for action, and any action we take can have massive consequences.

Trump has no idea what he is doing; It's stunning. Didn't he promise he North Korea would never launch such a missile? Now they have, so what is Trump going to do? Sanctions are "more of the same" and don't work, and military action is not an option. Trump has put himself into that "box" that no matter what he does he comes out looking bad.

There is nothing saying one country cannot have what another doesn´t! Let me put this right, I wish all the countries, the world would get rid of nukes, guns and anything to harm each other, but while the US & Russia, the EU & other countries around the world has arms, NK will have things to prove, it´s big boys with little toys!

An interesting fact BTW. Chineses have considered caviar disgusting just about 15 years ago, but now they are the largest caviar-consuming nation on the planet

For me it's not about the weak, they aren't weak.

For me it's about being allowed in a power club and abusing that power. They've set terrorism loose, funding it, directing it & strategically promoting it, to attack western culture & kill westerners. To me it's about taking back that power and a big fuck you for them abusing it.
