The title says it's by Stephen King's "The Dark Tower". Did you read the original books?

Cant stand the Dark Tower books. I'm working my way through the entire Stephen King audio book catalogue in chronological order. I've listened to every single one except the dark towers stuff... Tried them but cant stand them...

I'm almost 2 years total into the entire works of SK, and only have about 10 books left !

This looks like a possibility to create a serious of movies all based around the Dark Tower universe. I just hope that when they get to The Stand, that it will be the epic movie it deserves to be.

The Stand is filmed already and I don't see any reason to do a re-make, if the Hollywood crooks will be smart enough to not turn it into a full trash

All i have to say is that Idris Elba went from night club dj/rapper to epic actor. Love that guy. even in The Office, he was good.

Maybe. In the movie trailer he looks like an old used stripteaser or a former rapper but he definitely does not look like a western gunslinger from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"...

Black actors with british, Australian, etc. accents are big in America, they're immune from the racism & stereotypes because they don't have the American upbringing baggage for American viewers.

Would you like to watch a movie about Bruce Lee if he will be played by a white dude? You haven't watched much BBC then, those PC twats have already changed the race of historical and mythical characters and tried to add an out of place black guy in historical dramas. Strangely, they always swap out white characters and replace them with non-indigenous people - never the other way around.
