Trump announces ban on transgender people in U.S. military

President Trump said he will ban transgender people from serving in the military in any capacity, a reversal of the Obama administration decision that would have allowed them to serve, he announced on social media on Wednesday.

Citing the need to focus on victory, Trump said that the military cannot accept the burden of higher medical costs and ?disruption? that transgender troops would require.

?After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,? Trump wrote on Twitter. ?Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.?

A member of my family is in the frontline and sometimes beyond it. Women don't have the physical strength to be in the front line, they might cause men to be more caring, loving, hating towards their fellow combatants. Because they are women.

By all means, put transgender behind a desk in an office far away from the fight. But for fuck's sake, the military is about killing people and that's not PC.

Not true. I called him out for his nonsense with the AG. I also think this policy is misguided of sorts. In my opinion if someone has already transgendered and passes the psych test, then they should be good to go. I think if while enlisted and you want to transgender you should be discharged and free to go start the process on your own dime. And if you want to return after its done and pass the psych test, good to go. I think blanket policy that people that have completed their transitions can't serve is crazy.
