The 42-year-old New South Wales woman is a self-proclaimed kleptomaniac, who experts believe experiences a rush of adrenaline while stealing and loses control of her bowels, according to News Corp. Her name hasn?t been released because she suffers from a range of mental health conditions. But local authorities, including the magistrates at Moss Vale Local Court, are at odds as to how to treat her while protecting the community. So far she?s stolen from $173 from Best And Less Mittagong and a Shop Pharmacy in Campbelltown Mall. According to police documents, in one store the woman ?stood still with her legs partially apart between a row of display stands? before looking around and defecating on the shop floor ?before walking away?. She used a tea towel to wipe herself before throwing it under the display stand. In another store she forced a shop to close for an hour until her mess was cleaned up. Her lawyer Ben Archbold told News Corp his client has a mental illness and had ?fallen through the cracks of the mental health support available in the community?. She?s been placed on a 15-month good behaviour bond, but will be resentenced after breaching those bonds for stealing a drill from Central Coast Leagues Club on May 21. She is also being investigated over an alleged break-in at a Central Coast display home, although a police source told the newspaper they will ?never know? if she used the facilities ?because you can?t unflush a toilet?. She will return to court in September for sentencing. |
