Was reading some tourist/monger traveling Asia. He said that in 30 days he was never offered drugs in the Phillipines while it happened daily in Thailand and Cambodia.
Sounds like Duterte is winning war on drugs?

Yeah he is winning the war on drugs but there doesn't seem to be any due process at all. It appears that the police/military are judge and jury on the spot. Effective but brutal.

And people of the country seems to support that majorly. That is probably most important indicator if it is good or bad for said country.

At what cost is it ok to win? Seems they just kill anyone they suspect, no due process, might as well just be Saddam, or Stalin or any of the other dictators who used this excuse or that to kill people..

Sometimes the hard fist works but most cases its easily abused..

Don't forget that life is cheap in countries like that. And I do not mean in un PC way from our perspective, I mean from their perspective. For example I once took a bus ride in Vietnam and it was so full that one dude was hanging out of the door, literally his 95% of his body besides his hands and feet were outside the fast going bus. They do not value life as much. Not to mention other examples of India and people riding on top of trains and stuff like that.
Life has less value there from their perspective.

As for killing anyone - we do not know that. Maybe the kill only those they are 95% sure about? We can only guess, but I do not think they kill merely suspects, like 10% chance etc. Who knows?

Yeah here in europe you get kicked out of bus if you dont have seat reservation but you have ticket, there they dont have such problem lol

And yes, life is cheap in Asia due over population. Here in small europe country, you can publish story how someone is poor and in need a entire country will raise and help , there i doubt they have such actions.

PH needs a willing leader who would clean up the mess, improve economy, build-build-build, and have independent foreign policy.
He is not even accepting EU "donations" anymore, no need to.

I was about to say the same.

Druglords are funding to counter the government war on drugs in the philippines and EU pick it up as if it's not working. If you ask the people on the ground 90% felt safe already and duterte's satisfaction rating is not even dropping.

I was never offered drugs in the Philippines (except for Viagra) before Duterte was president either though there was (and still is) plenty available. He is not winning the war on drugs. The only thing that happened is that lots of low level drug pushers and poor drug users got killed and a couple of mayors that were allegedly involved in drugs. He is not going after the real problem, lots of well known high level people are involved in drugs that he could easily put in jail if he wanted, but instead he puts his opponents in jail by making up stories that the are involved in drugs...

That being said, some things are changing for the better. The country does need change and he is doing an ok job on some other things unlike most of the previous presidents.
