It's funny how this comes out just when there is a rumor circulating that Mayweather is signing a contract to fight a top boxer.

Being taken 12 rounds by an MMA fighter who had never fought as a professional lowered his stock a little, or at least it should have.

He clearly was letting Conor tire himself out the first few rounds, and then kicked it into gear, and dominated from then on. Makes the fight more entertaining for the fans, and makes sure it doesn't go the distance pretty much. Excellent game plan for a man with cardio issues.

It's funny how McGregor didn't throw his trademark counterpunch with power in any of the 12 rounds.

I guess it's likely that him and Mayweather had an agreement that McGregor wouldn't throw bombs if Mayweather held back until the 12th round when the Notorious One was gassed.

It was the perfect outcome really. McGregor went 12 rounds with a P4P great on his boxing debut and died on his shield (gassed) and Mayweather was never in danger of having his entire legacy being ruined through suffering a KO by a MMA fighter.
