I'm all for not being a dick about DMCA - if someone tells you you're using their shit (or better yet don't use it to begin with) get it down immediately.

But specifically there's Chaturbate girls in general who are quick to hire DMCA services for screenshots or little clips of what they do on blogs (that's why I promo them with stock images without their picture), however, I notice they themselves have been guilty of using unlicensed music for personal gain during their shows.

Camsites are creating more DMCA problems than tube sites these days. At least on tubes, content owners are frequently providing content freely in exchange for backlinks and banners, and mostly don't bother affiliate marketers (ie tube aggregators).

Cams are a whole different mess. The broadcasts themselves frequently include protected content, and the war between models and affiliates is intense. No solution in sight, just headaches and red tape.

I have asked so many times here and elsewhere for clarification about what I can and can't use to promote cams - All I get are other affiliates saying what they 'think' the rules are - They are well intentioned replies but I need a rep from the companies to tell me - It's like they want you to push the limits and they will tell you when you have gone too far - Possibly by closing your account...

If it is in the official promo tools you can use it -- XML, JSON feeds are official promo tools too. Screen caps from the website are normally off limits. If you store their images on your server you have probably crossed the line.

Seems a bit crazy that even background music can break laws. A hundred other copyrights were broken to make the video. Everyone claims their image technology was used without consent in first place all the way down to the computer it is played on.

Chaturbate removes audio from Clips we upload, which is fine with me.

Incidental background music, radio playing in the background of a live show, probably isn't going to get a record label, or the RIAA, up in arms. It is too much in the background, but enough that viewers can know the title/artist, and go listen through proper channels

I have live video from Gay Pride Parades on Amazon Video, complete with favorite songs being blasted from speaker systems on floats. Passed security.
