Buying cryptocoins?

Ok, I know that GFY is slowly devolving into a 'coins forum but sod it, here's another question.
Can someone please recommend a good, reliable place to buy coins with a large selection of the lesser known coins?
(Preferably with a low minimum buy too)

Cheers

I think its time to finally spam my reflink lol
I usually send btc (or other crypto) to https://yobit.io/?bonus=fxEet and just buy some alt there... also they have free coin thingy where you can get free coins which are worth nothing at the moment (but maybe in the future)

Buy bitcoin or litecoin first, then you can just use shapeshift to convert into a coin of your choice.

Before you buy altcoins at Yobit check if the wallet is not in maintenance, in case of Yobit this sometimes means "permanent maintenance". You won't be able to get your coins out. Also some coins, like their ESP, are on a old, pre-swap chain and basically worthless.

A few leading altcoins are going to take off soon as they are added to major exchanges. You want to buy them before the rush hits. I'm in ripple and plan to pick a couple more, still researching.

I found ripple interesting as its already being used by 70 banks as a transfer method, 4 second transfers and low fees.

I tried but i'll be damned if I can get that site to do anything without it locking up. Cannot find where to buy with USD anywhere and the free coins thingy seems to do bugger all!
Thanks though!

I wouldn't use yobit as your "first" exchange. Too many weird issues, and very bad support. As mentioned above they don't always keep up with coin changes/forks either.

If you want to go lesser known:

Tradesatoshi - Home has some quiet coins

Novaexchange - Your Crypto Currency Exchange Engine have even more obscure coins (some appear to have been created solely to list there) but right now they can't seem to make up their mind whether they're shutting down for good, or staying open.

www.coinexchange.io is another one that I've used which works well.

If you just want to play around mining would be also a start but requires time, reading and learning of course. Each day new coins pop up, are easy to mine the first days and some even gain some remarkable value, especially CPU only coins. ZOI for instance. Mined it with my i5 the first night after it was published and got 1100 ZOI. One is now worth $0.17, enough money to play around a little. But like said, that way takes time and a lot of reading.

For playing with altcoins i use https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/

yeah, I've been playing with minergate a bit, embarrassingly my phone gets a higher mine rate than my PC does! :D

Yeah its not really sophisticated and the free coin thingy seems to be not working now, but I still like to get some altcoin shit there for BTC (originally I registered there to get LISK /LSK/)

argh, this is turning out much harder than I thought just to find nice 'coin place to settle down in. I've been searching Reddit and found they suffered a DDOS but that's all I've found, what else happened?

I've been looking at hitbtc, looks interesting but you really need to go through hoops to get verified and I think I might fail as my bank account is at a different address to my I.D.

I never thought it would be this hard!

I stopped using Bittrex because of their new verification demands. Don't get me wrong, i understand that for trading with fiat or trading huge volumes a identification is mandatory, but for a small hobby trader like me who only trades small volumes of alt coins? A selfie with passport, seriously? What's next, blood and urine sample? Hey, i entrust them my money, what about them sending me selfies with passport?

For trading with fiat i use https://safello.com and are very satisfied with them so far but, at least for BTC to Euro, the minimum amount is rather high (0.05 BTC). Verification was quick and easy.

https://unichange.me/ also does smaller exchanges but with rather high fees.

Get verified only at one place to buy a major coin (btc,ltc..) with cash then just move that coin to an exchange where you will trade only in coins so you don't have to get verified. I think this is the easiest and safest option (safest regards your ID .. ).

I use coinbase to buy ltc then transfer it over to https://www.litebit.eu and have been buying xrp that way . Then I transfer xrp to my desktop wallet

I sold some of my doge over there also to buy some xrp

I use coinbase and binance mainly for exchanging.

XVG is taking off nicely at the moment and I am planning to HODL long term.

Why is it that hard? Once you create your accounts, there is really nothing to it.

You have to understand that at this time there is no "one stop shop" where you can trade every coin under the sun, but that's OK. In fact, some traders (myself included) use the arbitrage to their advantage. For instance, buy LTC on Bittrex for $290, transfer, and turn around and sell it on GDAX for $300. Do that with 50 LTC and you just made $500... and rinse and repeat

Is there a place that accepts payoneer/paxum (credit cards, not p2p) for btc or eth?
I found some places but for CC they require the 3D-secure thing and phone verification, and "adult" payment cards currently don't have 3dsecure.

I'm working that out now, I'm new to this game and just assumed that it would be a lot easier by now to get into it than it actually is. I started off by trying to find somewhere that accepted paypal! :D

I like https://coinsquare.io/ because you can trade coins like BTC, BCH, ETH, DASH, DOGE, LTC, etc etc, and "real" currencies like CAD, USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, etc. You can fund and withdraw via Interact, E-Transfer and wire transfer too.

I hold 9 different coins. I buy the big ones (BTC, ETC, LTC) from Coinbase. I then send small amounts to various exchanges.

I use:
Poloniex
HitBTC
Bitfinex

The exchange you use depends on the coin you want to buy. Not all exchanges list all currencies.

For selling I normally use Local Bitcoins.

If you need any help, send me a PM.
