Buying and selling offline

I need some ideas here. For years I've bought and sold cars and even had my dealers license at one point. I'm very good at buying and selling cars and it's a great way to make extra cash. I rarely do a deal that doesn't profit at least 1k and I can usually turn them over pretty fast and it's something I can do with out much effort.

With that said, cars are problematic in regard to space and dealing with titles, so I'm looking for something new that I can buy and sell locally with out dealing with car titles and large objects that take up too much space.

I'm curious if others have ideas on something that sells well on the local level as FTF selling goes and still has good profit. I've toyed with electronics, but that's usually too much nickel and dimes. I don't want to screw with stuff that only makes me $50 or $100 bucks unless it's something very easy to buy cheap and offload.

With cars I usually buy and sell in the $1500 to 5k range, with $2k to $2.5k usually being the sweat spot on the buy that allows for a easy cash selling point. I'd like to find something similar that I could buy and sell that allows similar profits with out dealing with something the size of a car.

Anyone have ideas for me?

Why not do cars that are bit more expensive and make 2k a car? Less space for the same profit.

I don't just make 1k on a car, the last one I sold a made a little over $4k profit on it. Granted that's more rare but when I say 1k, I mean I don't touch a car that I can't make a min of $1k profit.

It's really not a sliding scale as if buying a $2k car profits $1k and then a $4k car profits $2k. It really doesn't work like that as everything depends on what you pay for the car. You basically make your money when you buy it, because that determines what you make when you sell.

I like lower cost stuff in the $2-2.5k range because people whom are trying to buy a car can usually come up with $3 or 4k cash. However the last one I sold was $8,900 and it was a cash sale.

The cars are great for making money, but I really don't want to go through the hassle of getting my dealers license again. I can sell a few cars here and there under the table but to do it consistently, I have to be legal with the dealers license again and that's a bunch of hassle and needless money out of my pocket. I'd rather switch up to something I don't need a dealers license to do.

Come up to Massachusetts and I'll bank roll you. I have the commercial space to do it but I just don't know enough about cars mechanically to buy at auction.

Are you lazy or what? You can make 1-4K a car, but refuse because getting a dealer's license is too much of a "hassle"? Come on, dude... This is lazy man's excuse.
Shit, anything that makes you constant thousands every month takes "a hassle" in the beginning. getting a dealer's license probably being one of the easiest of the "hassles" in comparison.

That's not how the car business works not even at all
You go up to higher price points you're tying more capital up, you maybe don't move inventory as quickly, you're more noticeable to authorities, you're risking more on each deal and you're not certain of a higher profit amount or margin
Actually your margins are generally higher on less expensive stuff

So you pay some sideline asshole dealer a little here and there and work through his license. I think in most states it's called a salesman's license. Whatever it's called in your state in all states dealers can designate idiots who are allowed to operate ..
He gets you an extra D plate or two and you're set
No problem
What's the problem
There's no problem here

Its not like I was selling a car everyday.. When you are a small opperation you might sell 2 cars 1 week, maybe 3 in a month but then the next month you might sell one. If you can onky keep a few cars as inventory at a time its hard to keep consistant sales. Meaning its good side money but if you really want to move a lot of inventory you need a car lot and thats a hell of a lot of hassle. Not worth it to me.

Also when you start selling more in bulk you arent going to keep the same profit levels.

They seem to be making it harder to sell stuff speciallly on FBA because everyone kept sending in tons of junk and Amazon was running out of warehouse space. I dont really do FBA so I havent run into too much trouble. I store and ship everything myself, Im doing MF (merchant fulfilment ).

As for what I sell, on ebay Im doing used clothing, mostly men's. I dont really like that category but its so easy for me to find product and the profits are good. On Amazon I do mostly used electronics.

Might seem stupid but maybe you should hire someone to work with you on the car idea. Im not talking shop and everything but. A woman that takes care of the little shit like standing in line for that dealers license. Then you can move more than 1 car a week/bi weekly etc.

Then expand into another type. Like someone mentioned Jewelry. Necklaces etc. Buy at a pawn shop and then resell on FB and places like that.. Cars will most likely be more profitable.

I dont want to do cars again tbh. I have my cdl (can drive big trucks), if I were to go into cars again, Id buy a car hauler and buy rust free 4x4 trucks and work vans in the south and haul them to the north east and just sell directly to dealers.

Im sure it would be pretty easy to set up some regular dealers to sell to and sell several to one place. Im just over the dealing with flakey people and tire kickers.

My ebay/amazon is pretty good but honestly I get bored of shit pretty fast and Im kinda bored of ebay at the moment. I will likely put my stores on vacation in a few months to do something else for a while.

Money, really isnt much of a motivator for me.. Sure I could go balls to the wall selling cars or go bigger with my ebay/amazon biz but I make enough money and have money in tne bank as it is, so doing something interesting is more important to me than trying to build up some big business.

Im the hardest working lazy person you will ever meet. If Im interested in something or its new, I'll spend countless hours of the day working it. However soon as I loose interest I dont even want to think about it much less do it.

laptops? Expecially if you have a repair man partner....Maybe collectible computers? Just thinking of small items in constant demand. But if you can turn cars over, I'd say stick with it and get the needed papers.
