Adding AMEX to a non-adult website.
I would like to add AMEX to a non-adult website. I currently have VISA/MasterCard. I have no idea how long it would take to add it.
What is the average time it takes for a programmer to add AMEX payment to a website? 2 days? 2 weeks? Yes yes I know there are variables to consider, but of those that have experience, how long was the shortest, the longest, to add it?

this is a question better asked of your bank or your cc processor...I wouldnt use a third party processor for non adult unless you just cant get a merchant account through your bank.

I had Amex on all sites that took payment. They were adult but r-rated with no sex and nudity with genitals hidden behind hair. Bank approved it and the horny banker asshole had to view all paysite pictures. When I left and had an account directly with Amex, approval was fairly quick.
At the time, a lot of paysites took it but pointed the banks to a non-adult site for approval. I can go into any porn store and buy DVDs, magazines and adult toys with Amex ... yet online is taboo.

If you have a non-adult website, there is no quicker way to add Amex than to add Paypal as a payment method to your site. Paypal processes Amex payments, indeed for a hefty fee per payment, but it is quick and no upfront or fixed costs.
