Well you can can look at NYC to get a good breakdown of the crime statistics, since they separate whites, blacks and hispanics.

Shootings (any crime where victim struck with bullet)
Black: 67.5%
Hispanic: 29.2%
White: 2.3%

Murder
Black: 52.4%
Hispanic: 35.9%
White: 7.1%

i just counted it on my stats tool and YES you are right.
