Boom. It was close (it's always shocking to see so many asleep people who are completely oblivious on the topic but still vote) but it's official.

A few months ago, right before this referendum, our government had already decided to abolish the referendum law: In 2016 we had a referendum as well, the first one under this law. About the 'association treaty' between EU and Ukraine. To the surprise and disdain of the establishment, we voted against this expansion of their precious 4th reich.

Politicians here reacted very nervous and erratic: Oh my, the citizens have an opinion as well. How to respond, without showing them that we think they're cockroaches?
They didn't respond. Our prime minister is a master at lying. All he had to do as per the law, was to decide 'as soon as possible' what he'd do:
Officially tell us he will not listen to us and ratify the treaty anyway (honest and legal, as the referendum is advisory), or adhere to the citizens he works for and don't ratify.

He did neither. The first option is honest which goes against anything a politician is, and it would dig his own grave because he would admit he doesn't care at all about us annoying insects. Even the brainwashed people would snap out of their slumber and not vote on him again, and he cannot have that. Of course the latter wasn't an option as well, because he works for the EU, is their sock puppet, they say 'jump', he says 'how high'.

So he managed to delay the outcome for a year, then he stapled an extra worthless page to the original treaty with some hollow phrases in it, and still ratified it. Then he sold it to the public as "look, i changed it!". Result: We voted against the treaty, it went through anyway.

After this debacle, our politicians started to set in motion the plan to abolish this new referendum law as soon as possible, because they realized they had created a voice for its citizens, and these citizens... are critical and can think! The politicians saw that our voice wasn't one of a following sheep, but one of a critical informed citizen, so therefore we frustrated their totalitarian agenda, and they decided we had to shut the FUCK up ASAP.

That's why they are so quick to pull this referendum law. They even unlawfully told us that 'no matter what the outcome of this referendum is, we won't adhere to your vote, because the upcoming new law which disables referendums "is retroactively so it nullifies the outcome of this referendum". A law that doesn't even exist yet! They're really nervous, they're reaching and they would sell their MOTHER to not ever again have a law where they actually give the people a voice.

This tapping law we have voted against now is another great example of the EU totalitarian police state measures we have to swallow almost every day here. Let's see how these politicians squirm and lie their way out of this one. It's gonna be painful to see yet again.
