I use Amazon all the time so I understand this. However, this is simple math which Trump doesn't seem to understand. If the USPS doubles the price for Amazon, Amazon will just pull all of it's business and move whatever they use the USPS over to Fedex and UPS. That would be a huge loss for the USPS.

On top of this, Amazon would then be able to sue the USPS for violating it's contract.

Where I live Amazon uses their own delivery service AMZL_US

They pay local people to deliver 7am to 9pm 7 days a week and we have 2 hour delivery and same day delivery.

It is interesting. On the one hand, I think she's an employee of his. He picks the postal board of directors and they pick the postmaster general. So it seems to me that he can talk to her as an employee. But then the subject matter is questionable, is it an ethics violation?

imo, there's nothing to solve re: the deal. amazon and USPS made a deal and they both agree it's working for them.

as you pointed out, USPS is hamstrung by congress and by declining first class mail deliveries.

UPS and Fedex has the deal with Amazon, and they in return pay the USPS to deliver packages for them.
