Whirlpool walks back support for tariffs now that their stock prices are crashing..
Washing machine prices have risen 20% since June thanks to Trump's trade war. Whirlpool was all MAGA about those tariffs until it started cutting into their profits and caused their stock price to drop 14% due to lost sales and increased production costs..
MAGA, impeach Trump.. https://money.cnn.com/2018/07/24/new...ffs/index.html More dumb Trump nutters finding out reality is much different than what they think. It's amazing such idiots can run major companies and not understand how tariffs will affect their own market...

Impeaching him because he sucks Putin's dick, and is a lying conman is good enough reason

I'm amazed that Chump supporters don't have the mental capacity to realize whats happening. It's not just washing machines that have gone up in price. It effects almost everything that contains steel or aluminum. Vehicles are already increasing in price which means delivery's will increase, that will increase the price of almost every item you buy including food.
Within 6 months you will see the results of this twats trade war and it will affect everyone. Say goodbye to tax savings you may of made including any corporation tax reduction as they will be wiped out within a few months if not already! |

CNN is just pulling it out of their asses these days. Their biggest concern is not to actually report factual news, but rather to find a way to stay relevant and move eyes to advertising. That's why they are reporting nothing but shrill nonsense.
Whirlpool is thrilled at the idea of having Chinese companies like Haier excluded from the USA market. Foreign products are crushing them. This is an opinion piece by Nathaniel Meyersohn. I swear to god you just can't make this crap up it's so predictable. |

Why do you disrespect people here by lying to them? Whirlpool CEO: Steel prices have reached 'unexplainable levels' “While the U.S. steel has also historically priced at a premium to the rest of the world, most recently, the U.S. steel is 50% more expensive than the rest of the world and simply cannot be explained by the input costs.” As a result, the company has raised prices and may do so again. Whirlpool shares plunge 14.5%, post worst day since 1987 as tariffs wreak havoc with costs and suppliers |

WHR stock would have been down today one way or the other, and I am sure they are looking at finessing their numbers into some corporate gibs. How much access do you think Chinese consumers have to foreign products? Do you think they occupy any shelf space in China except under exotic circumstances? Do you think companies like WHR sell any finished product in China? I'm not an American and I don't really have a dog in this fight. But I have spent a lot of time in China and their market is closed like a drum by both unfair law and prejudice to foreign products. The trade imbalance is outrageous and unsustainable and has to be corrected. Not going to be pretty but it has to be done. |

You have to have 2 willing parties who will stand by their deals once made to make a deal. Trump is not willing to make honest deals in the 1st place and what he has made he reneges on with in weeks on multiple occasions. I think it's not fair to blame other world leaders for Trump's inconsistency and constant twitter tantrums.. As a result the rest of the world is moving on with out the US. Trump will cause harm to our country for years to come just like Reagan did..

it's not a zero sum game on leaders. just because we have a dipshit leading the USA doesn't mean other countries don't have poor leaders. look at eu, they're all fighting among themselves and can't even get their own shit straight on pretty much anything. that has nothing to do with trump.

In fact the WHR CEO reminds us that his costs for steel were negotiated and set in contract long ago. https://www.thestreet.com/investing/...BC&cm_ven=CNBC Nathaniel Meyersohn and CNN are misrepresenting facts by omission. Drama sells, and I gather eyes on their website are up from their decision to fudge it a bit. I wonder how much they get from links on their main page such as "These are the leggings everyone is buying from the Nordstrom sale" by Anna Hecht. Anyways believe what u wanna believe. It's probably a good day to buy WHR and I see there is already some volume happening. |

again, my view on many world leaders has nothing to do with trump. trudeau is not an ineffective leader because of trump. neither is merkel, macron, mattarella, may. etc. rhetoric is rhetoric. it's inconsequential and impossible to be a talking point. consequently, it should never stand in the way of a deal. we all have to sit through baloney rhetoric to get to the nitty gritty deal. fact is trump caved on the sunset clause in spite of all his preG7 rhetoric much of it included him claiming how important the sunset clause was. World leaders are supposed to be professional enough to segue past silly rhetoric and temper tantrum throwing clowns. |

And wow CNN is a goldmine of hysteria. Their homepage just updated with "Trump just said something truly terrifying" and "The President's rhetoric suggests the obliteration of free media. And if you blinked, you might have missed it."
And that's because Trump said "Stick with us. Don't believe the crap you see from these people, the fake news. ... What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening." Now if you can't see that as hysterical opinion put forth by CNN I don't know what to say. It's not news. It's not Journalism. It's just silly. It hurts my head to read this shit I am out lol. I don't really support Trump, but neither do I believe that the MSM is factual. |

I came for a deal, we made a deal. The EU continues to stand up for free and fair trade. My joint statement with @realDonaldTrump:
Joint U.S.-EU Statement following President Juncker's visit to the White House Washington, 25 July 2018 We met today in Washington, D.C. to launch a new phase in the relationship between the United States and the European Union – a phase of close friendship, of strong trade relations in which both of us will win, of working better together for global security and prosperity, and of fighting jointly against terrorism. The United States and the European Union together count more than 830 million citizens and more than 50 percent of global GDP. If we team up, we can make our planet a better, more secure, and more prosperous place. Already today, the United States and the European Union have a $1 trillion bilateral trade relationship – the largest economic relationship in the world. We want to further strengthen this trade relationship to the benefit of all American and European citizens. This is why we agreed today, first of all, to work together toward zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers, and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods. We will also work to reduce barriers and increase trade in services, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical products, as well as soybeans. This will open markets for farmers and workers, increase investment, and lead to greater prosperity in both the United States and the European Union. It will also make trade fairer and more reciprocal. Secondly, we agreed today to strengthen our strategic cooperation with respect to energy. The European Union wants to import more liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to diversify its energy supply. Thirdly, we agreed today to launch a close dialogue on standards in order to ease trade, reduce bureaucratic obstacles, and slash costs. Fourthly, we agreed today to join forces to protect American and European companies better from unfair global trade practices. We will therefore work closely together with like-minded partners to reform the WTO and to address unfair trading practices, including intellectual property theft, forced technology transfer, industrial subsidies, distortions created by state owned enterprises, and overcapacity. We decided to set up immediately an Executive Working Group of our closest advisors to carry this joint agenda forward. In addition, it will identify short-term measures to facilitate commercial exchanges and assess existing tariff measures. While we are working on this, we will not go against the spirit of this agreement, unless either party terminates the negotiations. We also want to resolve the steel and aluminum tariff issues and retaliatory tariffs. |

Whirlpool's CEO: These 4 Big Things, Including Tariffs, Dominated Quarter
"Bitzer said the chief contributors to the earnings miss and the company's biggest concerns going forward are the cost of steel and resin that go into making the large metal boxes that become washing machines, dryers, stoves and refrigerators, the company's stock and trade. The two other important factors are freight, affected by the cost of fuel and a shortage of drivers in the trucking industry, and tariffs, including those imposed by President Donald Trump's administration on steel imports earlier this year." |

So basically what you are saying is Trump's policies and business practices were already hurting Whirlpool, and the tariffs just added more flames to the fire?

Whirlpool stock has been declining rapidly for well over a year. But don't let facts get in the way of a great narrative.

And yeah... since you don't know... people don't invest in stocks to lose money. And notice that ALL competing companies aren't trending the same way. It's one failing company with leadership who is blame shifting to save their jobs.
