HTTPS with Traffic Trades?

As people switch their sites over to HTTPS their referral traffic is no longer tracked in trading scripts or analytics.

I also switched a site over and my trades dropped to zero.

Is there a fix to this?

This "no referrer problem" only happens if you send from HTTPS to HTTP. For HTTPS->HTTPS the referrers show without adding the meta tag mentioned above.

Also, if a trading script tracks using a parameter in the URL rather than the referring URL, it is not affected of course.

My pages are all https now.

So what happened is this:
-my old atx (arrowscripts) does not count incoming referrer from https pages, cookie is not set properly
-most other pages don't count my sent hits anymore from https

could not solve it with this meta tags, guess atx is finally done, and the small trading I did with others as well.

Any solutions? Decode atx is one, I'm sure http is hardcoded in there.

The problem with traffic trading scripts that many that track by referrer see
Code:
https://your-domain.com
as a different site than
Code:
http://your-domain.com
The coding changes would need to occur in the script at the incoming end, in addition to adding the Meta code to the sending https page. Since your trade partners are likely using a variety of different tracking scripts, many of them no longer updated, this simply isn't going to happen for the most part.

I've been looking for a solution for over a year with zero success.

Did you ask people you trade with to change your URL with https ?

If no even Google Analytics will count their traffic as Direct.

For sure, trading script overaged such as ATX can't manage it.

I tried contacting trade partners, many no longer respond to the email listed.
Many of my trades have been in place for years, so email may have changed, or they're running on auto-pilot.

I dont have any issue using both metas tags below

<meta name="referrer" content="unsafe-url">
or
<meta name="referrer" content="origin">

BUT, If your traders are still using ATX/ATC or any variable of this script... even with this metatags, them cant see your hits
about contacting your traders to change your URL to https.. that wont fix at all

Ok so, can someone let me know which meta lines need to add to our sites (on https) to make sure all other trading sites count traffic from our sites?

<meta name="referrer" content="unsafe-url"> full referrer >> www. domain.com/tube/video/blahblah.html
or
<meta name="referrer" content="origin"> only origin >> www. domain.com

But again, If you got any trader using ATX, It wont work at all...

there should be no difference if https is setup correctly, does not matter what the other person is using, make sure if your using a script that you change it all to https in the admin area and or make sure in either apache or httaccess your telling all traffic to use https even if its going to http

I can't seem to figure this out and have lost all my trades since I got around to switching to https.

I've tried:
<meta name="referrer" content="unsafe-url">
<meta name="referrer" content="origin">
<meta name="referrer" content="always">

The main trade is also going https to https which I thought should work without the meta tag. That site is using te3.

Also, wanted to add that I was on cloudflare https and thought that was blocking something, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

since your site is working fine, and http is being directed to https without issues, you may want to look elsewhere for the problem. it cant be the https thats a problem if its working right

Are the urls that you trade with https in the script? I think that is most likely what is happening it is seeing https:// as a different URL than http://

This also goes for referrer tracking on sponsors that still use http when you have https when it comes to seeing where your hits are coming from in their stats.
