He was formerly a Republican... He became a independent like all the other embarrassed Republicans who jumped on the independent train after that black guy beat the hell out of Republicans and made them look silly.

Many independents come from either of the big parties. I voted independent in 2012, actually on your recommendation, for Gary Johnson. In 2016 I went back to democrat - that was in no way a walkaway, I just didn't like the democrat candidate in 2012. Because I have a brain I decide what I do, not any party.

Clinton won the popular vote, which is meaningless legally but indicates she was a viable candidate. I think the way the DNC treated Sanders supporters turned a lot of them off democrats. They say Sanders supporters who voted for Trump put him over in each of the three states he won by small margins.
