The left doesn't want illegals. That is a myth perpetrated by the right. Meanwhile businesses continue to hire illegals and exploit them as slave labor. Making the ones here now legal, would ruin that. The government brings in more illegals every year then those that cross the border, in order to fill jobs. Lots of them simply stay.

I've never agreed with illegal immigration but on the flip side do you not think you'd do the same to try to better your family's life if you were born on the other side of a fence? I think anyone who says they wouldnt try to sneek in is a lying mother fucker..

Then there is the other aspect I look at.. Nothing will ever get better in their own country's if these people dont fix it themself. If they have to join the army and wage war against the cartels then they should be fighting to free their country..

I see it from both sides, but also have empathy for them as well.. I will say if a illegal is causing problems then by all means deport them. On the other hand, I dont like them coming here illegally but if they are working hard trying to make a better life I honestly cant get mad at them.

No one wants illegals. If someone is here illegally, I want them arrested and deported, and sent back home. In fact.... Put them in prison. Violating our border is a serious crime which should require jail time. Arrest them, put them in prison for two years, fine them $20k, and then ship them home. Give them a proper deterrent not to come back here illegally again.

With that said, my local police department doesn't handle federal crimes. They handle local crimes. The FBI and ATF doesn't home down to my home town and patrol our streets and hand out traffic tickets or handle domestic disputes. My local police department - which has three or four officers on duty at any time in a town with 50k residents - doesn't have the time, money, or resources to be chasing down, arresting, and detaining illegals. We have the Border Patrol and ICE to do this, not our local police departments.

Also, we shouldn't be hunting illegals down at schools. What do they do - follow them to their kid's schools and pull out firearms in front of hundreds of kids? Bullshit - that's just dangerous. Follow them for three blocks and arrest them anywhere else other than schools.

Obama deported more illegals than any other president. He was called the "Deporter In Chief".

If Republicans were remotely serious about this, they would dramatically increase funding the size of the Border Patrol and increasing the staff of the Border Patrol. Instead they say "We are sending troops to the border" and they send down 600 troops and they spend three weeks picking up horse poop and other silly support roles.

Biggest question is when will Republicans and Democrats do anything about legal immigration, its back log and bunch of GED dropout who are in charge of processing highly skilled and family based applicants? How come it take 6 month for Canadians to process applications, 2 month for Dutch and about 7 years for US immigration. That's what fucked up and non of it being addressed.

I'm not a lefty or a righty. I do not believe in open borders. I do believe in immigration tho. And helping refugees. Its kinda hard to live in a country built off immigration and know the best answer we can come up with is build a wall, ban a few random countries, round up everybody else and send them back and all will be fine lol. It won't.

There needs to be a common ground. I don't have the answer, because there's never a good dialogue. Everyone I discuss this with is on either side of the extreme and feels like an expert.

I do know a wall ain't stopping anybody from doing anything, neither is a ban list (especially when you don't ban the countries that actually attacked us) and the poor of all colors around here are too lazy to fill the jobs they are acting like are being "stolen" by the migrant workers they hate so much. Trump knows that too, as he hires illegals in private, but would rather play to the extremes for Twitter traffic in public.

yeah me to, I don't see the hostility of a foreign government as an 'immigration' issue in the USA. my personal experience from personally knowing many of the 'men' is they would like to go home but can't, no opportunity and dangerous.

It isn't just in this thread. I'm suddenly seeing it elsewhere online.

This caravan seems to have been the final straw for some white democrats (blacks have always recognized the open borders danger). These white dems aren't ready to support deportations, but it's a start.

Beaners have destroyed large parts of the suburban areas of most cities across the midwest USA. A lot of democrats are waking up to this. They are seeing it first hand. Areas they moved into ten years ago are now infested.
