I am heading to Sarajevo to watch their external derby this weekend FK Željezničar Sarajevo and FK Sarajevo.

Has anyone been there and would should I expect other than a wild time at the football match!

Not yet, but i heard it is nice place. Also, 2 weeks ago i meet Serbian chick from Sarajevo and she was totally crazy, she was asking everyone in bar for cocaine :D
And you need to be careful, there is shortage of man in Bosnia as all man moved out, you might end up married as there is big demand for man :D

Im an American but I stayed in Sarajevo for a month.

A couple places you should eat: For Cevapici, and for Burek.

Definitely get a cab and go to the abandoned Luge sled track in the hills above the city. Really cool, and a great view. And even though it's devastating, take the time to visit the Museum of Genocide. And take a walk around old town - chill in a cafe and get Turkish Coffee.

Been there couple of times...
It's both good and bad (as with any Balkan country)...

Here are some tips:
- if you want more than burek and cevapcici you should visit this restaurant 4 sobe gospodje safije

- active night life (a lot of places offers live music and people there like to go out even on a working days)... one of the places you can go is PivnicaHS

- if you drive your own car (or rental) keep a bigger distance from the cars in front of you especially taxis

- if you go into public transportation watch your belongings...

- be careful when taking a taxi since they might rip you off

- avoid talks about politics and war

- don't be surprised if you see muslim women wearing burqa's that cover the whole face (sometimes eve the eyes)... These are not local women but mostly muslims from Saudi Arabia. They are coming there since they feel welcome there, and it's not forbiden to wear a Burqa there, it's in Europe and climate and is much better than in their country. You can see them in old city and in oriental cafes there.... you won't find them in pubs or places where they serve alcohol.

- their local currency is about 1/2 value of Euro so for 1 euro you should get 2 Bosnian Marks... also when you see the price just divide it by 2 and you'll get the price in euros...

- everything is quite cheap there compared to rest of the europe

Actually, they are local women. Some have only a scarf. Their women who are very religious are dressed in Burqa. Women who are agnostic are dressed classically.
