Depends on the state you reside in, it's really something you need to ask a lawyer.

I'm in NSW and its basically impossible to do anything adult related, my only adult involvement is owning domain names, which I buy and sell. I paid for lawyers to look over it, not as a producer but a site maker, its a nightmare best not touched.

Law's were always looser in QLD, hence why the great Aussie porn mafia resides there, Baldys all time tip... never do business with anyone in Qld.

There is an Australian porn industry. However producing is problematic. AbbyWinters moved to the Netherlands because of legal issues.

https://www.smh.com.au/technology/gi...112-29750.html

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/s...holland-2013-8

Queensland was thriving in the mid 1990s to recently, it's in decline. Some terrible shit went on at times. I wouldn't do business with most of the people in Queensland.

There is a quietly humming away local production industry, it's very quiet and keeps to itself and obfuscates it's existence.

So production in AU is low key mostly. Webmasters in AU have declined from the dizzy heights on the early 2000s.

I have no idea how she operates.

Its illegal in everyway to produce adult R18+ videos and then promote online, here in NSW.
Btw.. an animated gif.. is classed as an video. That certainly doesn't mean that people don't do it, just more than likely their breaking the law, actually multiple laws. And each of those laws carry multiple years imprisonment risk.

Hosting in Australia always was and still is a big NO no.

I found an Australian porn site (only aussie models) last year but I don't remember the address :/

Isabelle Deltore has her own site too but looks like it's only solo stuff on there

Yep

The porn industry in Oz is very different, at least in Queensland where I was.

Yeah. Although Scott Phillips did plead guilty to assault.

Australia is missing out on a lot of Potential in Adult, all these strict laws and for what. So ridiculous. Oz could of been a booming industry, who knows maybe one day the laws will loosen.

Nobody said there isn't a solid industry here, it's just low key.

Technically yes.

The laws regarding hosting porn in Australia were debated in the late 90s and thanks to Richard Alston (senator at the time) came into law.

Before the new content laws I hosted all my sites locally. Then switched to the US. Some still on .com.au addresses.

One of my sites was the first site to receive an ACMA takedown notice and it was available as a .com.au in the USA the very next day. Stupid law, nothing changed.

Incidentally this first site was featured on a 4 Corners episode called 'Deliver us from Evil' (about censorship in Australia) which made the point that while you could stop hosting porn in Australia, the laws were pointless because the moment the takedown notice came it was available the next day to all Australians - just hosted overseas.

Fiona Patten (Victorian Upper House Rep now) & Robbie Swann headed the Eros Foundation which represented Australian Adult Industry interests. Eros ? The Adults Only Association

I agree, she's done a lot for our industry here and for people more broadly as a Victorian Upper House MP. Her Reason Party - used to be called the Sex Party - represents the views of common sense and social justice very well in Victoria.

I don't really understand your question.

Prostitution is legislated on a State level and is legal in most states.

Internet content is legislated and regulated on a Commonwealth level and adult content may not be hosted in Australia.

Ask a lawyer.

It depends where you live and how you do it.

Get legal advice if you're unsure, nobody here can speak to your individual circumstances or business model.

major head aches here when adult material is transferred over telecommunications/ internet/ phone and specifically video content. All videos should be Government classified and 75% of the porn out there would be banned. R Rated picture sites are ok, remember that animated banners are classed as videos.

Sites advertising brothels eg:

https://www.brothels.com.au/

will have their own rules to work with

No matter what you do in Australia you can bet there's a law against it. We're not as mistrusting as Americans with Government so most of these laws pass on the presumption they will only be invoked if needed. Abby winters.com was an example.. Charged with 54 law breaches, 52 were thrown out and the argument came down to is it Female Ejaculation.. or pissing, cos pee stuff is banned here... 6k slap on wrist, but it could of just as easily been 60 years in jail.

A guy got charged with Child porn here for Simpsons porn..

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2008-12-...e-rules/233562

convicted of possessing child pornography and using his computer to access such material.

Probably worth pointing out that that 6k slap on the wrist probably cost $20k+ in legal fees. I don't know this but a good Barrister is a few grand a day.

Easy... Last time I used one, going back 15 years they charged $550 an hour.

And ya know its not just porn, if they want to charge you with something here.. there's a law to do it, especially online.

eg: https://www.acorn.gov.au/learn-about...cyber-bullying

Read that one and think daily arguments on GFY ;)

What do they say about lawyers, guns and money?

Should have been a lawyer.

I moved from Melbourne, where there are a number of adult webmasters who catch up every second month, to a remote area near a small town. It took over a year to find this out but there are two other adult webmasters in the area.

We now meet at the pub once every few weeks for dinner and a drink.

The closest town has less than 1400 people living there

Lifestyle mainly. Everyone is friendly, everyone knows everyone else by name, you go into town and people stop and talk to you, you see the milky way at night, you get to live in a house 5 times as big as your one in the city, more space around you, quiet, no traffic, better air quality, more laid back, better internet speeds (lol wat? yep), no queues for anything.....

One of my first memories when I moved to QLD in my McMansion on 4 Welby drive, surfers paradise on the water was laying back floating in the pool at night and seeing the milky way & crab nebula for the first time in my life

You should see the southern sky without a light dome, where there's absolutely no other light for hundreds of kilometers away. It's amazing.
