Good job, Austria

Many women in islamic countries are forced to wear the hijab. It subjugates and oppresses women. This is a step in the right direction and closer to an all out islam ban.

The government says the patka head covering worn by Sikh boys or the Jewish kippa would not be affected.

Austria’s official Muslim community organisation IGGOe has previously condemned the proposals as “shameless” and a “diversionary tactic”.

The IGGOe says that in any case only a “minuscule number” of girls would be affected.

Opposition MPs almost all voted against the measure, with some accusing the government of focusing on garnering positive headlines rather than child welfare.

The government admits that the law is likely to be challenged at Austria’s constitutional court, either on grounds of religious discrimination or because similar legislation affecting schools is normally passed with a two-thirds majority of MPs.

The OeVP and FPOe formed a coalition in late 2017 after elections in which both parties took a tough anti-immigration stance and warned of the dangers of so-called “parallel societies”.

Muslims are protesting that young children are being taught some children come from same sex families, children who live with 2 Mothers or Fathers.

I do love it when women forced to wear full face covering are preaching what is right or wrong to teach a child.

This was the same area where the Trojan Horse scandal was discovered. No problem teaching children homosexuality is evil but not right to teach them about the world they live in.

The problem with these minority religions is they want to isolate the children and therefore keep the community intact and separated from the mainstream. It's not exclusive to Muslims, the same method is practised by all minority religions. Be they Jewish, Christian or even Scientology.

Won't be a big issue for Muslims in Austria, Primary School aged girls don't normally wear a hijab until around 13 years of age, which is usually until they are in 7th grade at High School. So it's not much of a victory for the Right Wing in Austria.

Paul, I am only speaking from experience, I have grown up in one of Australia's most heavily populated Muslim suburbs. Believe me when I say, not all Muslim girls wear a Hijab until they are of Teenage age. I literally went to primary school with the majority of students who were Muslims. Out of all the girls that were Muslim when I was growing up, only one or two wore a Hijab. The rest of the girls you wouldn't of known they where even Muslim until you saw them when they hit High School age, years later when they had the full head scarf on.

I don't know what going on in England but I doubt it's much different from where I'm from. And I am no Liberal

. I could give 2 shits about politics and labels.

Anyway, maybe someone who is actually Muslim can correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, within all 4 sunni schools, the shia and the wahhabis, it is scholarly consensus that Muslim women cant marry non Muslim men.
