The forum lunatic who has tanked this forum single handedly and can't post without lying wants to question the integrity of others. Makes sense.
Although i dont always agree with Bladewire’s posting style, he at leasts contributes some useful knowledge in various business threads and has obvious current business knowledge.

dividends
C level payroll
number of employees
number of hours
quality of service
quality of product

Which of those do you think will take the hit first? It's not dividends and C level payroll.
What do you want me to answer here? Neither you nor I have advanced PHDs in economy and I'm not intimately familiar with the entire $15 minimum wage plan is. I assume you aren't either. So I can't give you an honest educated answer to your questions.

However, in broad strokes: Comparing a for-profit vs a campaign budget, the big difference between the two is that the for-profit company has margins and variable earning potentials they can play with to cover the differences and still be profitable. Campaign budgets are mostly fixed. There isn't much more wiggle room unless you inject more cash into the campaign. That's the gist of it.

Yes yes, I know, some business' models will be severely impacted by the $15 minimum wage. Some will even close down because of it. Others will adapt and thrive. On the other hand, you're giving a big portion of the population more spending power, which in turn, should stimulate the economy.

However, the point of my replies isn't to argue for the legitimacy of the $15 minimum wage plan. That's a whole different debate and is WAY out of scope to be discussed in this forum.

My intention was to show that the article shared by Hunglo is dog shit and is crafted only to appeal to people who already have a disposition to disagree with Bernie's proposal of the $15 minimum wage.

Why is it dog shit? Because if you do just a bit of simple math, you'll notice that the reporter is trying to warp something that is basically a contract renegotiation to adjust for the realities of working on the campaign into something much more devious than it really is. Nobody is getting shafted here. People are actually getting paid the same amount for working less hours.

The article is a huge nothing-burger.

What's harder to run: a business or a campaign that has millions of dollars thrown at with zero financial risk?

Really? It is kind of like playing in a poker tournament at TPF where there is no buy in vs paying to play.

It's relevant because if Bernie can't raise his staff budget 40% to meet his $15 dollar min wage, how should you expect actual business owners who aren't "playing" with other peoples money to raise it potentially 106%?

I don't think you've ever run a business that had to meet a payroll ( like Bernie) and don't really understand how this all works, because if you did you'd never advocate for $15 min wage.

I don't really feel like going through a bunch of galleries right now. But we did get stuck in an elevator together in Amsterdam a few years ago. We were a small group and weighed over the limit. The elevator got stuck between floors for a few minutes until staff came and helped us.

Maybe you remember that and it would be proof enough

Now you're trying to turn this into me advocating for the $15 an hour minimum wage? I'm not. I'm just pointing out that your article is bullshit and showed you why.

I can't tell you why Bernie can't just magically increase his budget by 40% because I'm not running his campaign. So why are you asking me these stupid questions?

I'm not going to waste my time debating with you over the pros and cons of the $15 minimum wage. I'd be an idiot to waste my time with someone who systematically rejects any ideas that are different than his own.

And yes, I've run several business'.

Onto the next thread where you post some half-assed piece of information and you get destroyed again... and again... and again.
