"Unexpected Click Areas" .. That says it all..
I'm not sure if other code can comply with "Unexpected Click Areas", Thanks.

i am not 100% sure if this is the reason.

if you have a popunder on the same page it would normally also execute in the space between the navigation spots.

if this is not the case you can also put a little "sponsored" graphic in front of it and it will be accepted.

but the new thing google comes up now is MUCH MORE terrific than that as they are blocking all third party cookies when they are not send on https and with the samesite
extension in the next chrome version.

this is in fact the end of each domain with no https and any kind of external content that needs a cookie and it will also effect nearly all external codes or cookies what are miss configured (90% are miss-configured)

this will be the next big "OHHHHHH the biz is going down" and it will take years til the last one found out why.

Possibly, Pop and navigation link was on the same report/ site. I guess you could be right.

Will try the " sponsored " graphic

put a chaturbate popunder on voyeurboss to test and traffic dropped 90%.

Removed pop code and in 2 days traffic back to normal.

Well, it looks like they finally implemented what they were threatening; months after they claimed they would, and long after all pop-unders had been removed.

This is NOT limited to just the one page mentioned in their email, it's across the entire site.

for me this looks now like software dedected.

in the past they have been sending videos and screenshots where you could see what EXACTLY is meant. but a few weeks ago they stopped it.

it is much harder now to find out what is meant and what one could do against it.

right now I see complaints on "invisible click areas" that do not even execute a pop.

I have to investigate this issue a bit deeper - I am not 100% sure what is going on here right now and this makes me crazy.

but this was not because of google or chrome - these are technical issues in the popcode.

I have seen multiple sites where google did already block all ads, pops and target blank links and they still had the top positions in google and did not lose ANY traffic.

I think ssl is not even the biggest problem here.
there will be still http sites with traffic linking in something on https (this way it works not the other way round) but you know how many affiliates are relaying on cookies.

it is not only retargeting that will have a problem it will effect all sites that store the affiliate id in a cookie when the cookie is set wrong.

i made a few tests today with some domains and landingpages and i can tell you that not even 2% of them did comply with this rules.

you can test it easy (even with gfy) by opening developer tools in chrome chose elements and look at the warnings. after that do it with every page you want and you will be astonished.

wait til the next chrome version and observe the tears.
this will be one of the biggest dropdown bombs in the past 10 years.

It is possible that my site was penalized for "invisible click areas" because I use code like below to wrap a video feed on my pages. I just noticed that it is allowing clicks on the full width of the page, even in whitespace outside of the video feed:

Code:
<script type='text/javascript' src='//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js'></script>
<style type='text/css'>
.my_container{position:relative;}
.my_overlay{top:0;left:0;width:99%;height:100%;position:absolute;cursor:pointer;}
</style>
<script type='text/javascript'>
$(window).load(function(){
$('.my_overlay').click(function(){window.open('http://mydomain.com/');})
});
</script>
<div class='my_container'>
	<iframe src='blah' height=528 width=850 style='border: none;'></iframe>
	<div class='my_overlay'></div>
</div>
Software detection would definitely pick up on that, humans would be unlikely to try clicking on it due to the location being near the bottom of the page and isolated horizontally.

if you did not change $('.my_overlay') to anything else even a adblocker will detect and block it.
if is is software detected and not human it is quite tricky to work around that.

if you're referring to the variable name: my_overlay
that was a different text on my site, I changed it to this before posting on gfy so it's not identifiable.

yes that seems to be the way a and img is not a problem.

the problem is in some popunder scripts that are always creating a clickable layer area.
even when it is not executing anything google complains it.

also tonns of complains with the same issue where the script is changes but cached through cloudflare or other services.

seems like a lot of work is coming.

It seems I'll need to do this soon too. Do you use AdSpyglass?
