Before I get Acronis true image 2020... One quick question...

Anything else I should be looking at instead?

Intended usage = Backup of C drive and incremental backups each month from then on in... Does NOT need to be automated.

you get a lot of cloudspace with it and you can backup all and everything.
it also does not slowdown your connection when you do in automated.

I am using it a few years already and I am quite happy with it.

Have a look at Macrium Reflect. They have a free version which may be all you need.

Thankyou. That's actually ideal ! I watched a couple of youtube videos on it and it appears it will suit my needs... I don't really NEED incremental backups, as it's only the OS and settings files etc on C - I'm not backing up data - Just windows really, so I'm doing a clone onto a spare 300GB Sata Drive.

My C Drive is only about 110Gb of stuff (a game got installed there by mistake) so it shouldn't take long. At least if in the future something goes wrong, I can just boot from this backup disk, and recopy over to my m.2

Again, thanks - I owe you a drink

Yeah, thanks thommy, but as you see below, I've gone with the free option instead. I get what you mean about Cloud space, but that's only if you have a yearly subscription. Not if you just buy it outright, which was what I was going to do...

Anyhoo, its cloning as we speak, so all good

No problem.

The free version offers differential backups which is similar to incremental. I use it myself, no complaints.

There are loads of products out there, but I have always recommended Acronis true image to consumers. It just works - no BS. Not the cheapest software, but the day you REALLY need it, you dont mind paying the $35-50 (depending on discounts)

Actually, it was on your recommendation in another thread, that I was looking at it

I just feel the free option is adequate for my needs Worst case possible scenario, I need to install windows again. Pain in the ass, yes, but my data isn't on the C drive

I do a long of imaging and restore. I've always found Acronis slow. Been using Paragon backup recover for a while now. Comes with some useful utilities and is free.

I used to use Acronis

But now I just use the windows built in imaging. I like it because it allows me to mount the backup without restoring it. It doesn't cost anything.
