Strange, I'm type 1 diabetic and never found their bread effected my blood sugar more than any other bread. maybe it's a different bread recipe here in Canada

I’m type 2 and their bread always makes my blood sugar rise. I haven’t had their food for years but used to have the flatbread in whole wheat. I remember that their chicken was found to be forty percent filler. Luckily I didn’t have any chicken there.

Ireland is perhaps using a different recipe.

Just strange that they think bread isn’t bread. Locally they have Portuguese sweet bread. Very sweet and icky. Tried it as a kid and never again.

Yeah it's best to avoid in any case. They are always looking for ways to save money or make the food taste better not with your health in mind.

We stay away from places like that as much as we can. Sometimes its just a no brainer than it will fill you for the needed day/event and thats it.

It just doesn't qualify for a VAT exemption as "bread", your portuguese sweet bread is likely taxed as a confectionary
