i'd like to know about this as well. my sister's brother-in-law and i are buddies but i never know what to call him. i usually end up saying he's my side-ways brother-in-law.

.. in laws are only related to the married sibling. The family of the married sibling doesn't become formally related to the siblings in-laws at all. Thought there was some sort of relation there too.
