New Producer - How to work w/ Agencies?

Hi All -

I have spoken with an adult attorney and am ready to get started. I am curious at what point established agencies (MotleyModels, AdultTalentManagers) started working with you? I have a couple amateur girls booked over the next few weeks, but don't have much material quite yet.

Does anyone have agencies they can recommend for a someone just starting out? Happy to pay a "newbie" rate as well just so I can get some references.

Thanks all!

Good question. All I can say is to be open and honest that you are new, don't have experience or a portfolio (yet) and whatever you agree that you are going to be doing, do EXACTLY THAT. No More, No Less - EXACTLY THAT.

Back when I was starting out many many years ago, there were not really any modeling agencies in existence. I sourced the girls myself, and to a point, I did whatever I wanted and made up my own rules as I went along, not needing to report or answer to anyone...

That said though, I was always above board with what I wanted and expected, and if I asked a girl to do more, along with extra money of course, and she said 'no' I respected that, and just moved onto another...

One thing I would say was in my favour though, was that I was NOT appearing in the videos myself. I was just producing them. So when I asked a girl to work for me, and she asked who she would be working with, I gave her a choice of some different established male models to choose from, and booked whoever she said...

Of course when the agencies began to appear, to them, I WAS the established producer, so I had zero issues. But that was a long time ago.

So my question would be - Do YOU intend to be appearing / performing with these girls yourself? If so, it could easily appear that you are a chancer, a 'GWC (Guy With Camera) approaching an agency, hoping to get his end away with a 'known name' and not actually create anything other that a personal tape for your own spankbank.

I'm not saying this is the case with you, but that IS how you may well appear to an agency at first. If you are NOT intending to perform yourself, then you simply approach the agency to book a girl and ask them what male talent they have available and book one of their guys too. Pay the going rate too. Don't try and strike a bargain - Not yet anyway!

Put simply, doing that, means that you mean business. And that's the business they want...
That's the type of guy they want to be coming in their doors. You'll have no complaints that way.

Do that a few times, get a rep for being for real, then if you decided to get involved down the road, no one's gonna bat an eyelid at yah. Likewise when you approach the next agency, you are not 'The New Guy' you are XYZ productions, who has been using ABCs Models successfully for a couple of months and are now branching out.

Reputation can be everything, but its really not hard to get enough rep to continue on...

The important thing is to just be professional, pay the going rate, and give the girls a tip if you can afford it - That kinda thing goes a long way.

Good Luck
