SEO QUESTION: Would Overtagging a video hurt against your FOCUS keyword?

Example
keyword target = lisa ann

video1
tags:
lisa ann, brunette, pornstar, busty, thick, creampie. anal, white, big ass, pierced belly, etc etc etc etc

VS

video1a
tags:
lisa ann

TY

Isn't the point of tags to aid user experience?

I mean if the video has that content, use those tags, if not, don't.

im starting to see that even with the other junk "tags" the user doesn't really click on em, so these "tags" creates all these diluted pages of spammish pages.. it seems

Make those pages non-spammy... or use the no-index header tag.

its a tube site, so...none are spammy my taggings are accurate, but, it FEELS and looks like google is indexing all those generic "blowjob" "hardcore" tag pages first vs the ACTUAL keywords im trying to rank for.

TBH I'm not a fan of tags, and don't remember ever clicking on them either, so maybe nobody does. The theory is good, for users to find related material, but they are spammy in that sites 'misuse' them as a lazy way to keyword enrich a page, and I doubt search engines are unaware of that.

I would say if you want tags, use more than one in a useful way for visitors, and maybe limit them to 4 or 5. Nothing to do with SEO, though it might provide a positive side effect there.

If you don't like them, don't use them (visibly as tags). Just put for example "lisa ann" as a title or subtitle or some other descriptive text, if it's not there already, and have 'related' videos on the same page, which I assume you probably already do, making the tags redundant anyway.

Tags should isolate and relate similar content. "hardcore" may as well be "porn" and shouldn't be used, along with "pornstar" if it's going to be 50%+ of your videos. They should not be thought of as keywords but rather defining characteristics, avoid redundant tags that mean the same thing (thick / big ass).
