Premium domain question

I'm thinking about buying a premium domain.

Is the premium domain price a one-time fee
or does this price also have to be paid annually, when the domain is renewed?

And if it is a one time fee, what is the renewal price? The standard TLD price?

Is it possible for an outsider to increase the price after a certain period of time
or am I the normal owner after the purchase, like with any other domain?

Greetings Beaver

premium domain price is determined by the number of letters and words and demand or popularity of that word or phrase, not registration or renewal.

most of the dictionary 1 word .com domains are considered premium domains, but if you find one free to register you pay only reg fee and renewal fee as with any other domain.

I make an example:

Directnic wants $500 for a premium .com domain.

What is the next year renewal price $500 or the standard TLD price $15?

One time 500 to secure the rights, then you pay the regular rate for annual renewal.

Make sure to review the T&Cs

Premium domains can be like this:
  • Pay premium to start, then standard regular fee, or
  • Pay premium to start, and keep paying that same premium

You've been around for at least 20 years and thought if you buy a domain for 10k you pay 10k every year?

We have the premium domain party.miami and the people at saw.com tried to sell me that domain for a one time registration off $350 : But we had already registered the domain for $3 with a renewal fee off $16 per year and no they cant increase the fee once its set (Always check the renewal fee off any domain before purchase) There are people buying premium single word .xyz domains with $,$$$ renewal fees written in fine print when they purchase there domain .

What's stopping them increasing the price? Other registries increase the prices of their extensions. I think dot com is increasing every year for the next few years.

I've never had a domain make a difference in the profitability of a business/site.

Thanks for the help!
Incidentally, it is not a .com domain.

Some premium domains on Namecheap renew at regular prices, some - at price you paid.
What are premium domains on Namecheap - domains bought by users at regular price and listed on the marketplace.

I didn't expect that there would be any differences between the individual TLDs
and I didn't intend to reveal more about the domain I'm looking to buy.

I don't think giving the extension is much of a clue, unless the keyword is "beaver". Even then if the name is $500, who on GFY has that much money?

Anyway, I don't know about Directnic but Namesilo and Porkbun show the renewal price for domains (at Porkbun under a question mark, IIRC). Search your name there, and you should find out exactly how much it costs to register and renew. Check both, because prices can be slightly different.
