The Best Recovery Software
Hi, Found an old external HD drive. Unable to load it up tho. What Software would you all recommend that can recover the data off of it? Went on google and everyone recommends their own to be the best. LOL

I been through this nightmare many times but you have to be more clear what's not working. Does it spin? Is it in a case with power supply? does it click?

I recommend partition software as you won't recover data any other way.

If it's working and it just doesn't boot, download and burn a Linux Live CD/USB. Plug in HD, boot from the Live CD, choose to try and not install, access the drive and copy whatever data you want to wherever.
If it's mechanically broken, which it sounds like, software isn't going to help.
