Age vs spending money on porn

Much emphasis is put on demographics like country, but how about age? I would suppose that older people have more money and thus able and maybe even more willing to spend more money to porn. How is it? Do old, "dirty" folks spend more money to porn in terms of conversion/ amount spent?

In cam sites they chat girls so we get to know their age. No one under the age of 20-22 is really buying cam shows and if they do, they chargeback or spend like $1 per year max.

The 25-30 year olds start to get some interesting guy, but often busted by wife or getting a gf or losing job, anyway is nothing solid.

The 30-40 year olds is very good instead, as well as the 40-50 year olds. These are either permanent lonely/divorced, or permanend married with zombie. No opportunity or wish to find real first/new girlfriends or do big changes in their lives. So very stable status, these guys spend $1000/month in cam site today, may spend same in 2020 or 2030. I witness people spending nicely every month since so many years in cams, they're all 30+ years old however.

If we could filter traffic buys by "age" that would be even better than filter by country for sure.

Note, that 30% of adult tube traffic is under 18 people, that's statistics you can get in various ways. Lots are under 25 too, perhaps 50%. A 20% of the USA traffic is arabs from proxies, iranians no real US people.
So let me I estimate that of 1000 US/CA hits, 200 are proxified arabs/chinese whatever, 400-500 are under 25, then only a 30% have hope of converting due to age/location.
From this 30% you apply the usual other reason why not to buy: unemployed/broke etc.

The older generation WILL pay for porn. But targeting men over 55 isn't easy these days.
To be blunt the problem is the availablity of female talent. None of them really have a look that men 55+ want to see.

It's garter belts, stockings, high heels, NO TATOOS and some hair hair between their legs.

Plus they want to see the girl's personality and they're also NOT into seeing her get fucked by cock the size of a buick or by a guy that looks like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger.

It has been mentioned that older people have different preferences. Isn't that opportunity to filter traffic? Making some banner, etc. that appeals to older people. This is common stuff when making mainstream ads those are targeted to certain demographics.

About banners in general, I have noticed that banners in porn industry are not that good. Those are often lacking call to action, benefits, proper visual design and such.

I can echo Shoot Twice's thoughts about what the older customers want in the models. They want personality and conversation and not too many tattoos and body ornaments. They want to see a pretty young (21 to 35-ish) woman modeling and teasing.

One observation about the younger (under 25) customers is that they have grown up on free downloaded music, software, games, videos, etc and just don't have the mindset to purchase anything. I can't prove this, but I have a very strong feeling about it. If someone has evidence that says otherwise, it would be encouraging.

Basically, I think our customer base is aging and not being replaced. I am hoping that once the younger generation gets established and has some disposable income, they will consider spending some money in our industry.

Yup I can confirm that. Most want the little older "classy" looking woman. I'm sure the younger girls wouldn't be a problem for many of them but once again they seem to prefer that "classy" look.

The only thing I can really add to this conversation is that a guy 55 or older would still buy an 8x10s if given half the chance.

From what I can see with cams, the old people are fine with young girls (the younger the better lol - even if it happened someone wrote asking if any older girls), shaved girls (hairy is rare request, if it covers the relevant genital details). Yes, segments are more diversified. Although I have worked in customer research (as a worker), I don't think that any of you are willing to pay for extensive research and implementation, so using some easier segmentations as age and location are quite suitable in here.

I think one of the things that needs to be factored in is that a lot of these "old men" aren't necessarily heavy users of the Internet. In fact many aren't even on the net.

Now I believe that if someone can make serious big bucks if they can figure out an effective way to get porn into an old man's cell phone without needing to surf the Net. Every old man I've met has a phone but almost none of them seem to want to use it for the Internet.

You know in a way what you wrote begs the question,

"Why does this industry continue to waste so much time marketing to those that will never pay."

I mean over the years I've watch many people bend over backwards trying to please a fan base that tells them to go to hell. It seems to me a logical step would be to just stop making videos that these freeloaders would be interested in.

Hypothetically, if 1% of porn surfers are buyers, 70% of those might be in the 30-50 year old male profile. As a collector of a few favorite vintage models' DVDs, and being of retirement age, I have spent anywhere from about $3 to $100 for a given DVD. The $100 is only if it is a DVD that completes or almost completes a set. Most DVDs have been in the $5 to $30 range. I don't usually collect compilation DVDs, just the DVDs with the first instance of a given scene. It is much like collecting old sports cards.

I already know what is on the DVDs and have enjoyed leafing through DVD albums that display 8 DVDs on the opened pages. It is actually like an Art Gallery!
