Keywords question
Hi: I would like to hear other people's opinions on next:
If a site is ranking for various keywords that were never targeted with SEO pages on the site, how to proceed? Shall I create completely new pages targeting those keywords? or just leave it like that. Some of the keywords are in top results but the majority are ranking much lower. thanks

If a website is ranking for keywords that were not intentionally targeted with SEO pages, it may be a result of the site's content being relevant to those keywords or search engines interpreting the content differently than intended. Here are steps you can take to address this situation:
Remember that SEO is an ongoing process, and it may take some time to see significant changes in rankings. Regularly assess and adapt your strategy based on performance data and changes in the competitive landscape. That is why having someone with SEO knowledge can notice this immediately and inform you and suggest any and all of the above among other things. Good luck and hope this helps you - feel free to contact me if you have other questions.

Thanks for the detailed answer but I was looking for an opinion regarding keywords I am getting traffic already without optimizing pages. It would be hard to optimize existing pages for additional keywords without putting in jeopardy SEO for targeted keywords.
Maybe a better question would be, will I confuse SE if I create new pages for keywords already getting clicks without dedicated pages? Although the current situation is insane, huger drops in traffic just like other people are reporting, without any visible reason

Positive Impacts: 1. **Targeted Content:** Creating dedicated pages allows you to provide more targeted and relevant content for specific keywords. This can improve the overall user experience and increase the chances of conversion. 2. **Improved Rankings:** Targeting specific keywords with dedicated pages can enhance your chances of ranking higher for those keywords. Search engines often prioritize pages that are optimized for specific search queries. 3. **Better User Experience:** Having dedicated pages can enhance the overall user experience by offering focused and detailed information about a particular topic. This can lead to higher user satisfaction and engagement. Negative Impacts: 1. **Keyword Cannibalization:** If not implemented carefully, creating multiple pages for similar keywords may lead to keyword cannibalization. This occurs when multiple pages on your site compete for the same keyword, potentially diluting the SEO value for each page. 2. **Duplicate Content Issues:** If the content on the new pages is too similar to existing pages, it could lead to duplicate content issues, which may negatively impact your SEO. Search engines prefer unique and valuable content. 3. **Time and Resources:** Creating and maintaining multiple pages requires time and resources. If the new pages don't significantly add value or target distinct aspects of a topic, it may not be the most efficient use of resources. Best Practices: 1. **Content Differentiation:** Ensure that each new page offers unique and valuable content. Avoid duplicating information across pages. 2. **Keyword Research:** Conduct thorough keyword research to identify related but distinct keywords that can be targeted with the new pages. 3. **Internal Linking:** Implement effective internal linking strategies to guide users and search engines to relevant pages. This can help distribute SEO value across your site. 4. **Monitor Performance:** Regularly monitor the performance of the new pages and assess their impact on overall SEO and user engagement. 5. **Quality Over Quantity:** Prioritize quality content over creating numerous pages. Each page should serve a clear purpose and provide value to users. In summary, creating new pages for keywords with existing clicks can be beneficial if done strategically and with a focus on providing valuable, unique content. However, it's essential to be mindful of potential pitfalls such as keyword cannibalization and duplicate content issues. Regularly assess and adjust your strategy based on performance metrics and user feedback. Hope that is more directed to the question you were asking

It all depends on lots of things, like what KW did they find your site with, is it a specific porn search or something like "Chipotle delivery" and yours came up for some reason, did that search turn into a sale, is the search from a real surfer or a bot, is the KW something that would benefit your site as a whole or no, etc.
You know, does it make sense to you to add it? I don't know because I don't know the KW or the page that it lead to. Also, if that KW isn't scalable, then don't worry about it.

When it comes to search engine optimization (SEO), it's essential to use keywords strategically to improve your website's visibility and rank higher in search engine results. However, there are certain keywords that should be avoided as they can negatively impact your SEO efforts. Here are some examples of keywords that you should steer clear of:
Overly Generic Keywords: Opting for overly generic keywords can be counterproductive for your SEO strategy. These keywords are highly competitive and often have a vast search volume. Trying to rank for keywords like "car" or "travel" can be extremely challenging and might not bring you targeted traffic. Instead, focus on more specific long-tail keywords that cater to your niche audience, such as "best budget-friendly cars" or "family-friendly travel destinations." Keyword Stuffing: Keyword stuffing refers to the practice of excessively using keywords in your content or meta tags with the intention of manipulating search engine rankings. This technique is seen as spammy and can result in penalties. Search engines have become smarter in detecting keyword stuffing, and they prioritize user-friendly content. It's important to write for your audience, not just for search engines. Irrelevant Keywords: Using keywords that are unrelated to your website's content is a big no-no. Stuffing your pages with keywords that don't match your content may lead to a poor user experience and can result in penalties from search engines. For instance, if you have a website about gardening, using keywords like "celebrity gossip" or "video games" would be irrelevant and misleading. Competitor's Brand Names: It's generally not a good idea to use your competitor's brand names as keywords. While it might seem tempting to capitalize on their brand recognition, it can lead to legal issues and damage your online reputation. Instead, focus on building your brand and highlighting its unique qualities. Misspelled or Poorly Written Keywords: Purposefully misspelling keywords or using poor grammar and punctuation in an attempt to attract traffic is not a recommended SEO strategy. Search engines are designed to understand user intent and provide relevant results. Using incorrectly spelled keywords may result in your website appearing unprofessional and can negatively impact user experience. The goal of SEO is to optimize your website for both search engines and users. By avoiding these ineffective keywords, you can focus on creating high-quality content that resonates with your target audience and improves your website's organic visibility. |
