Lisa Femia of the Electronic Frontier Foundation is this Week’s Guest on Adult Site Broker Talk
![]() Lisa’s work focuses on surveillance, privacy, free speech, and the impact of technology on civil rights and civil liberties. She has done substantial work challenging age verification laws across the U.S. Lisa joined EFF from Hogan Lovells US LLP, where she focused her pro bono practice on democracy reform, criminal justice, and civil rights. Before that, she addressed privacy and government surveillance issues as a clinic student and post-graduate intern at the Brennan Center for Justice. During law school, she was an NYU International Law and Human Rights Fellow, advocating for press freedom and media rights in Kampala, Uganda. Before law school, she managed government relations for a national nonprofit in Washington, D.C. Lisa holds a J.D. from NYU School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is a leading nonprofit dedicated to defending digital civil liberties. Since 1990, EFF has been at the forefront of protecting user privacy, free speech, and innovation through litigation, policy analysis, activism, and technology development. Its mission is to ensure technology serves as a tool for freedom, justice, and progress worldwide. EFF is committed to safeguarding online privacy and free expression, actively challenging laws that infringe on digital rights. In 2024, the organization opposed age verification requirements in California, New York, Texas, and Mississippi, filing legal briefs and public comments. As the fight continues into 2025, EFF is preparing to address similar challenges in states like Florida while also opposing federal legislation such as the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). You can follow EFF on X @EFF Bruce, the adult site broker, host of the show, and CEO of Adult Site Broker, said: “My conversation with Lisa was fascinating. It's great to talk with someone who was there, arguing our industry's case in front of the Supreme Court. She was a great guest.” Adult Site Broker helps people buy and sell websites in the adult space. They are known as “the ethical broker” for their business practices.
