Hi Friends, I am a full time freelancer. Until last year I have a good job, freelance clients, Happy family everything was there. But this year I fall ill for 6-8 months. All clients gone. All savings gone. Now I am good in health and back to business but lost clients rust and I am now at nowhere.,At this moment i found out that i have another medical emergency in my family and now I got tensed because until last year i was earning good but when i was in hospital all savings has gone because i am the only person who earn money and now everything gone. That's why i thought i should share this story here as generally i am focused on my work only and not on other things. But I share my story here so that if i can able to get some help from this community as I am a very old member of this community and i have faith in this community. Sob stories, no matter how aptly (or inaptly in your case) phrased, don't get a pass around here anymore . . .

if you are actually looking for work you'll have more luck if you can establish some sort of track record/work history beyond your claim of being (Jan 2025 join date) with an actual CV you'll probs have a lot more luck. anyway, wish ya the best

I can honestly see this happening even in my line of work for a few reasons. For starters if you're a large company you don't want your competitor to snatch up your golden goose who in my case created tons of traffic. Even amongst themselves they don't talk about hiring high profile SEO people instead say inhouse which implies less than average (I'm not saying that but have been told) Secondly - SEO and other fields are competitive and it's easy to see that if you're hungry you'll contact a company promising everything especially undercutting on price for services. I saw this recently with two website brokers who dropped their commissions quickly to compete with one another. Third again being a large or mid sized company or site you'd like to brag that it was your content that increased your traffic or your amazing skills in getting things right. Great at trade shows and everyone is impressed but you know better Fourth - those larger sites that offer others to buy traffic or trade traffic may not get a good deal or even have a deal broken if the other side knows you have a SEO person or even if you buy traffic. Means it may not be quality and qualified users and brokers know full well = many before selling their website suddenly buy or do SEO to raise their traffic to show on paper to potential clients - as soon as the deal goes through - SEO guy is let go - traffic buying or trading stops and the purchaser is left watching their once high traffic volume of millions turn into a few hundred. I may share stats but without the sites/companies name there. That's generally okay. oh and Fifth - the worst is that there are those on GFY and in the industry who dislike someone strong enough that they launch a campaign against them even to the point of contacting their clients to attempt ruining their reputation or block your efforts. Yes there are evil assholes out there who just want revenge and a "get you back for what you said about me on the boards" attitude. Case in point - look at all the false threads made about people attempting to ruin their reputation by claiming they are scammers. That happens off the board too. so there is logic behind it

all true, for sure. esp the 5th one
there def be some bitches about (usually male, so in writing this I'm not being misogynistic) still think some semblance of a CV or track record would be useful in achieving his unspecified endeavour, but dude hasn't even been back since he posted the thread. read into that what one chooses still wish him good luck tho

He claims to be an old member with few posts - but although I have been around a while I don't see anyone running in stating, "hey where have you been miss you" from veterans such as myself. Well wish him the best of luck in whatever he's attempting if it's legit Night Jesse ![]()
