Canada does have lots of naturists, not sure why. But I remember finding a webpage online of pics of a mother, daughter, son, and father playing naked at the playgfroudn, and were defending their right to.

I thought that was a little much.

If I took my kid to the park, the last thing I want him to see would be anaked family running around.

Natural or not, its just not how things are now. (at least here)

In the province of Ontario (not sure of the others); a woman being topless in public is no longer a criminal act.

This was enacted more out of an equal rights agenda rather than the government reacting to a cultural shift.

One must also keep in mind that while a woman cannot be charged for walking topless down the street; if she is causing a scene which disrupts traffic etc, then she can be held accountable for those consequences. Remeber that when you try to stage a photo shoot on Yonge St.

If this went on in the US all of the sudden, yes, it would harm some children. But only because our children here are generally never around naked adults.

In other countries, kids are exposed to this kind of thing from the start. So it's no big deal to them.

The US has got to be the only country in the world where nudity around others is so taboo that the kids at most high schools won't even take showers after PE anymore.

30 years ago it was very common for US high schools to actually make the boys swim totally nude for swimming class.

In the US, nudity = sex.

Good point. Although I see nothing wrong with it if that's the norm in your culture, in America, it's just not usual to see. If I had my kid at a park, and a naked family was there with their kid, I'd get upset about the fact that it would make my job as a parent all that much more complicated... having to explain to my child why they are the ONLY people there who are naked.

However, I don't fall for the bullshit some people will have us believe that it HURTS the kid or scars them mentally if such a thing were to happen. It might make explaining it to them VERY complicated and confusing to YOU as the parent, but there's faaaarr more terrible things a kid could see at the playground. Shootings and violence not being the least of them. There's kids that see that sort of thing every day. That's the kind of shit that would scar a young mind. Not nudity.

I don't put clothes on my dog when I walk him.. why should I have to put clothes on myself? They just provide protection from the elements (hence, less clothing when the weather is nice).
