Scars (Physical and Emotional)

I'm kinda scared to start a topic 'cause some of ya'll can be brutal, but here goes:

A) 20 months ago, my munchkin was delivered 2 1/2 months early by c-section (I had HELLP Syndrome, my liver burst during the section so I had surgery on that too). The c scar is vertical, navel to pubic bone.

B) I've been single since Munchkin was 7 months old and have just now gotten back into that weird, wide world of dating.

C) I lost the pregnancy weight and am back in shape (I work out, walk on a regular basis, like I did pre-pregnancy).

D) I feel good about dating and losing the virginity I regained during the past two years...feel good until I look at the c scar and get totally creeped out.

E) I mentioned to my unspecified status that during surgery, I had a seizure/bit my tongue in half/it was sewn together but is uneven (slight ridge in the middle, I sound like fucking Frankenstein). He just about wet his pants over that (I'm guessing he thinks ridges are not only for Ruffles) but I think the c scar might be a bit much to mention/show.

Okay, now that you have entirely too much information, tell me this: scars, do they freak you out, are you okay with them, do you ignore or overlook?

I will be honest-I have 2 scars and I am terribly troubled by them-that's how my mind works-it's all how YOU feel about them that matters-if you can put them out of your mind, you are luckier than me

I try not to dwell on it but the scar tissue is STILL sensitive and that only heightens my awareness.

It bugs the crap outta me because it's something I can't control or "get over" (plastic surgery's out of the question, wouldn't do any good and I would never voluntarily have surgery after that nightmare).

I'm not into scars on others and don't dig 'em on myself either.

I haven't met too many people without at least one scar so you aren't alone.

I have one that's now barely visible from childhood when I was running fast, slipped and went head first into the edge of some concrete steps. It put a huge 2 inch slice into my forehead.

I have another one from when I was 20 and riding with my girlfriend on her horse. She was on the saddle I was sitting on the horses rump. The horse didn't like me on there and wouldn't budge. She said give it a kick and I accidently hit the horses groin. He went into full gallup and then went into a bucking frenzy to knock me off. Sent me flying into the air. Then the fucking horse had the audacity to back step and he started to stomp towards me and missed by face by just inches.

When I went soaring from him I had landed on rocks and one gashed into my back arm near my elbow. I still can see the scar to this day and that was 25 years ago.

Another time as a kid I was on a tobaggon with a few friends. I was in the front and we were cruising fast down this hill when this other friend tried to jump on the back with us. By doing this he steered us off course and we went dead center into a huge tree. Since I was in the front the weight of the 4 kids behind me all pushed forward and I had my arms on the front edge trying to steer out of the way. My left wrist bones just snapped like a twig. One bone broke the skin and was protuding out. I didn't realize I had done this at first because I had the wind knocked out of me and couldn't feel the pain yet. They thought I was fucking around trying to catch my breath and started throwing snow in my face. Finally caught my breath and realized holy shit my hand was dangling. I pulled my jacket sleeve up. Saw the bone sticking out and fainted.

Anyway, good luck with your scars. We all have them.

Christianity is a scar on the lips and heart of all children.

Pagans rise.

Pain is temporary
Broken bones heal
Chicks dig scars
and glory is forever.

However in your case this may not apply. You will never know until the person sees it and only then will you know.

Personally I have no problem with scars. Wouldn't bother me a bit.

I am covered in Scars. Stuck in a chair, and basicly physically fucked up. Just do not let it bother you and it should not bother others. If it does fuck em and move on, they aint worth your time or thought.

That's not a Hallmark postcard, my cousin took that picture of me picking up shells in the backyard (Blue Mountain Beach, FL, sandwiched between Panama City and Destin; beats the hell outta the old backyard of Tampa).

Otherwise, I have a friend who's into scars, but then again, she was a self-mutilator for several years and did her own scars. She's 28 and looks like Demi Moore.

i got quite a few noticable scars and i get naked and model for a living..one scar is from hip to hip...and my belly button was totally removed and resewn back on..and there is a two inch scar below that ...some people get those "keloid" scars that raise above the skin and are very noticble.. that would bother me.. but i have no probs with my scars...they fade and i have great stories to tell about how i got them

I was once married to woman with a *huge* wide scar from the bottom of her rib cage to her navel (she'd been shot).

The scar didn't bother me at all, but other things did

Mine looks like a damn zipper. The section ruptured open seven days after surgery and had to be restapled. Thus, those staple scars on either side of the scar make it look like a zipper.

I'll say this, that damn scar is the best birth control I've ever had 'cause I damn sure ain't going through that EVER again.

If a guy wants to be with you... then he will... no need to worry about that scar... if anything, you can hide it well with a waist cincher or corset..my hubby thought i was dressing up in lingerie for him everynight..hahahaha.. i burst his bubble by telling him i was hiding my stomach.. now i don't give a shit cause i dont think about it as much...neither does he..

i just envy the youngsters that can wear belly shirts....bitches

I have a couple bad ass scars. One goes from the top of my spine all the way down. It's sweet! Lol. Ok, maybe not, but who cares? There's nothing you or anyone else can do about it. If your date has a problem with necessary scars of life than he isn't worth your time.
