Honestly, I think pride is a negative emotion. I'm not proud to be hetero, I'm not proud to be an American, I'm not proud to be human... I'm glad I'm all of those things, but I'm not proud. They're not accomplishments, and even if they were, I prefer a little humility.

If I were gay, I wouldn't be proud... but I WOULD be perfectly comfortable with my sexuality, and would be open and honest about it... and wouldn't give a shit about anybody's negative opinions.

I guess it depends on what definition of pride you use...

1. An excessively high opinion of oneself; conceit.

2. A sense of one's own proper dignity or value; self-respect.

In the case of the 2nd definition, I take back what I said about pride being negative. I usually think of pride in terms of the first definition.

2 things that annoy me about some straight posters on gfy:

1) They are always spouting off their own agendas and want the world to be exactly the way THEY perceive it to be!

2)Some people think WAY too much of themselves if they think all gays are going to hit on them! Plus the old "thous does protest too much" really comes out in those that are in "homosexual panic!"
