You truly have no clue.

There is nothing cookie cutter about my seminars! Speak in ignorance or bask in understanding...your call.

Either way, speaking out against it without knowing about it...

So you willingly create a couple of hundred competitors for $200 a head?
Must be serious nuggets you throw out for that kind of money.

Troels....if you've ever had the opportunity to hear SEGuru speak or to speak to him personally, I'm not sure you'd be talking about a "cookie cutter SEO factory". Several people here, many who've made successful careers in the SEO game, have attested to the value of information which SEGuru disseminates at these kinds of events.

If you think that the one-day event is a waste of time and money....don't attend. But, don't sit here and insult the intelligence of the people who choose to take the opportunity to learn.

I'll vouch for that, a 5 minute conversation with Daron and I felt like I've learnt a ton of info, and I do SEO for a living as well.

I guess it doesn't quite matter here...as this individual doesn't really count towards those that "get it!"

If you're successfull then why the need to teach others?
Why the need to promote your services?

You're willingly giving away your nuggets for virtually nothing, or are those 'nuggets' in fact reasonable priced?

Why not teach others? It's an enormous market and there's plenty of room for other SEO's to learn and enter the marketplace. And his price is virtually nothing for what you'll come out with.

ohhhhh you're saying he is UNDERcharging!

Maybe he just knows how many "nuggets" are worth $200 ;) Who says you have to lay your brain on the table when you do a seminar. You lay enough out to make it worth their money. It's not -that- difficult to "get it".

You still don't get it...and I had this same conversation prior to the seminar where 40 people came to vancouver and I taught for 8 hours a day for 5 days. This is what I do for a living, for my clientele and teach to those seeking what I know.

You tell me if there is value in what we will be covering (taken from http://www.searchenginematrix.com/seminar.html):
Quote:

The Basics:

Discussion about web site hosting scenarios that affect search engine promotions
Defininig the differences in Spidering Engines and Search Directories
Understanding what ranking criteria is and its relation to what is known as an "Algorithm"
Link Popularity
Exploration of the Pay-PerClick model engines
Current Search Engine Agreements for index/database sharing
Importance of Research and the necessary resources to make staying informed easier
Resources, Keywords their Uses:

Choosing the most appropriate keywords
Locating an abundance of new keywords and phrases
Tools to create your own popular keyword database
Unorthodox sources of Keywords and phrases
Understanding the use of keywords in Spidering Engines
Understanding the use of keywords in Search Directories
Inappropriate use of keywords and phrases
Exploring the world of misspellings and the un-harvested traffic
Word Stemming
Stop Words
Keyword Prominence
Keyword Frequency
Keyword Density
Keyword Placement
Resource sites and their importance
Discussion lists of value
The 3 C?s: Code, Content, Competition

What is Cloaking?
Beware of the "Bait and Switch"
Frames and the engines
Alternative HTML (First taught in a Marketing Conference in Copenhagen)
Hiding content on your surfer pages
Metas and Myths
Robots.txt
Naming conventions for images and html documents
What is and how to you measure your domains link popularity
Reporting and trend tracking
Placement trend analysis
Assessing the competition
Cautions for Frontpage and WYSIWYG editor users
Search Directory Strategies

Expired domain names
Effective strategies for getting that Yahoo listing.
Understanding the REAL alphabet in regards to Yahoo!
Business Express!
The impacts of a Yahoo listing in today?s Search climate.
Looksmart and its benefits (mainstream)
The Open Directory Project ? DMOZ
Ethics of Search: Spam and Optimization Techniques addressed
Reverse Engineering Search Algorithms

Tools for Reverse Engineering Search Engine Algorithms
Reverse Engineering Techniques
Practical application of Reverse Engineering Techniques
What does Art & Science have to do with it?
Testing
Q & A and specific looks at some participant sites
What am I missing? Or should I say...what are you missing? We have a ton of ground to cover and we're going to do it in a day and when everyone is done...they will walk out of that room with a much better idea on how to plan their long term SEO strategies!

That should be obvious based upon the project outline!

Troels, it is embarassing for you to come on this board, which is a community board and announce to everyone that you would never assist a fellow collegue. I THOUGHT WE ALREADY HAD THIS CONVERSATION!!!! WHAT YOU GIVE OUT IS WHAT YOU GET BACK!!!!

As for your tone to Sweetums, I take offense to that. She is one of the most intelligent, well respected people in this space. Consider yourself honored to be on a thread with her.

Magick....You go girl.....you rock!!!!
Leslie, are you coming? You better!!!!

yeah, but it's not even really worth fighting over...
so Troells won't be attending...who cares?

All that matters is that those who want to attend get their money's worth, that's ALL that matters....

Ladies ladies. No need to let some little puke get you going. Someone who obviously can't afford the airfare let alone the cost of the seminar is not worth the response to any of his useless posts.

um, no...well not from me...that's not my department...I think that's KimmyKim's area.....

I've just decided on this show, all I care about are attendees and sponsors being happy, anyone who wants to start shit or make excuses about not coming, I don't really care....

I'd rather spend my energy on making attendees and sponsors happy then arguing with someone who's not going to attend anyways....

Charles...my man!

Its too bad you cannot make it brutha! My aim and email are nutty with questions about the seminar...and YES...WE CAN COVER THE OUTLINE IN A DAY.

I'm going to cram so much info into your heads, you'll be limping out the doors! There is definitely no lack thereof here.

Again, we've already established that all the Einsteins pay to hear what to do in the SEO world, so yes, I guess that makes me dumb.

Trust me nuclei, you are the first one ever to mention my first name's resemblance to that English word.
You must be proud.

Good one. So you actually make a living telling other people how to get good results in the search engines but you don't play the engines yourself???

Those who can, do - those who can't, teach?

Not everyone who's an SEO is a competitor. If you look at it that way, then SEGuru and myself should be huge competitors, which is certainly not the case. We do similiar work but we also talk to each other on new trends in SE's and we work with each other to better familiar ourselves with the marketplace. By maximizing the learning abilities within the market, this makes us stronger and in a better position than re-inventing the wheel many times over.

But since you seem to be all wise and smart on your concepts of business competition, I'm willing to bet you don't need to attend this conference.

Fine - next time you want a reply from me it'll cost you $200...
Or you can signup for a monthly fee of $29.95 and I'll reply whenever you want me to.

This is GFY.

I'm always looking for posts from SEguru. This isn't one of my drunken rambling threads although some of you might disagree.

I'm still at a loss on the $29.95 a month thing.

WiredGuy, nice post! You are indeed correct.

For any long time SEO's in the crowd...you may remember an old name SEO...DOGBOY.

He's as old school as they come. I will be seeing Dogboy in London for PubCon sponsored by WebmasterWorld. He and I have done a little business here and there...but for the most parts...we bounce stuff off each other. Compare notes.

Same as WG and myself.

That is very much a part of this business. A complete picture is needed to access your overall SE campaign. I try and help empower people with that knowledge as well as point them in the right direction in the time we have together.
