Choker prefers to put up galleries that will actually make use of any traffic they get.

UMM, 13% CTR and productivity on just a gallery header and footer is quite good my friend. You are talking about apples, I am taling about oranges here.
As far as not accepting clean galleries, well I only sell gallery spots. Cleaner does not mean btter.

Those are the most common proxies out there?

But regardless of proxies, there are quite a few skillful ways to identify bunk traffic.... identifying proxies in almost real-time & comparing the proxy % from one sender against the systems average is just one of them.
