Web savy people! I have a question about page formatting w/ tables

I have text going around a thumb picture... how do I get the text to automatically go around the picture without having to format into tables?

Meaning without having to format the text myself to look good around the thumb picture. also so it changes automatically for different screen res.

Thanks guys

here is my example:

Example

I need the text to wrap around the picture without having to start a "td colspan=2"... so it automatically formats itself around the picture

Put align="left" on in the image tag and put the image in the same cell?

that acutally won't work out so hot. because presumably the text would be one item, and the image is one item, it would push them around accordingly. either the image would be after the text, or the image would be before the text, but it wouldn't wrap it like that.

i imagine IE has some proprietary measures to do what you want, since IE sucks 10" dongs for breakfast.

I believe that if you left align the image, the text wil start at the top right of the image and then wrap around it once it gets past the image.

One of the GFY graphic designers must know the right way to do it?

yeah, i figured he wanted text on 3 sides of the image, in which case that wouldn't really work tho.

also, it's kinda up to browser interpretation, so it's a pretty ungood way to build it.

if the text were not one long paragraph, i'd just use tables.

I see what you mean. If he doesn't want the image at the top, then what? Maybe you could use CSS to fix the location of the image, but you'd have to worry about browser compatibility issues.

I thought about using css... I want to be sure this page works with IE and Netscape. I have seen this done before somewhere...

anyone else have any ideas?

After doing some searching I found out how to do it... something so simple!

Check it out: Fixed Example

Isn't that the same as adding align="left" inside the img tag?

You might also want to add hspace and vspace so the text doesn't hit the image.
