Theft is an offense punishable by having one hand cut off.. This fellow lost more than that, so I'm assuming he did something pretty awful. Looking at porn is an offense punishable by death by public stoning... Many things there are punished harshly. It's a system that's hard, but it's a hard area of the world to live in.

It's an interesting book that's for sure.. Read it a few times.. doing some comparitive research. It's VERY remeniscent of the bible, especially the old testament.
