![]() Can anyone tell me how shopping carts, processing and affiliate programs would work for a NON-adult product? I've never set up anything like this so I am wondering how it works. Any info would be appreciated
![]() Do processors provide a shopping cart for your site, which lead to the payment processing? Also, if I wanted to create an affiliate program for the product, how do I go about doing that? Say I have a product that's $20 and I want to pay affiliates $10/sale... Do processing companies set this all up for affiliates to check their stats and also give payouts to the affiliates or would I do that on my own etc? ![]() Disclaimer: Yeah I know I sound straight off the n00b bus, but I've never set anything like this up, so I am just looking to find out how it all works. ![]() ![]()

CCnow:
How do I use affiliate programs with CCNow? CCNow is compatible with most affiliate tracking systems, such as ClickTrade, AffiliateShop, and Commission Junction. If you have joined an affiliate tracking service, you can use the "Settings & Options" screen to specify the HTML codes we should use to link your site to that service. Our software will automatically insert the codes into the "Thank You" page for your account. The URL which is used for the "Thank You" page will be one of: http://www.ccnow.com/cgi-local/checkout.cgi https://www.ccnow.com/cgi-local/checkout.cgi BTW, I have no ties with them aside from the fact that they dids treat me well and politely for all the period I was with them ( better than paysystems in my experience). 2checkout seems good to ( I used them to buy stuff) but I no nothing of their system. ![]()

I believe there are a couple of small payment processors which have affiliate programs built into their back-end. Howver, they charge exorbitant rates because of the headaches associated with a chargeback... Instead of dealing with two parties (consumer & merchant), there is now the added affiliate who will want to know why he lost his 10 bucks. We have an agreement that allows us to include an affiliate system but it is being included as part of our huge software overhaul scheduled for 2004 sometime... In the meantime, we are able to integrate with most affiliate programs, if not all, and I would assume most CC processors are in the same boat. As for shopping carts, they are usually provided...go with a processor that DOES provide one. Cheers James P.S. I can be your friend...want to play on the monkey bars?

FF...can I call you that?
I will compromise...swings are fine...you ever try to loop yourself all the way around?...my efforts have ended only in disasters. I would reccomend CJ.com (commission junction) as they are the authorities on affiliate programs. However, you can probably get a much more cost-effective solution and I would say somebody on here knows something so I am going to make a post and see what we get... If you want to email me, go ahead, that way I won't take 2 hours to respond. James
