KFC original recipe . . . . hope I get there before they close this year. Or were they closed all day? Maybe that was it. Fucking Taco Bell was closed too. Since when did Mexicans start celebrating Thanksgiving?

I think last year I made a note to myself to hit KFC the day before so I could have dinner this time around. Thanks for the reminder.

If I were going to L.A., I'd invite you to dinner baddog. I'm gonna be in Berkely this time around, and am making the dinner. Wanna drive up?

My favorite has to be the pumpkin pie. I love that stuff!!!

I like it all. Turkey, potato salad, green beans, cornbread stuffing with lots of sage and onions and giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, candied sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie..

It's the combination that I like so much, not one individual thing.

I'm going to have fun cooking this dinner, I can't wait! I LOVE to cook!

Cornbread stuffing.

This is supposed to be my first low-carb Thanksgiving and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle it. No riced potatoes? No pumpkin pie? NO STUFFING!?!?! I'll probably die.

This is my first low carb thanksgiving too, but you can have yummy treats! You just have to tweak 'em into being low carb.

www.lowcarbfriends.com has some FABULOUS recipes. I'm making pumpkin layer cheesecake for dessert this Thanksgiving, and if my husband can't tell that the cheesecake is low carb, then chances are it's REALLY good! (I tasted it. It's hard not to eat the whole cake. )

We in Canada of course celebrate thanksgiving a month earlier than the US.
At our dinner we had....

White wine
Garlic & parsley mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes
Kernel corn
sausage stuffing w sage and onion
turkey-gravy
cranberry sauce
cracked wheat dinner rolls
a big-assed perfectly-roasted boid.
and pumpkin pie w French-vanilla ice cream

The parental unit sets a mean table come turkey day.

I've been in there before. I'll check there for ideas before I hit the grocery store. Then it's a matter of willpower to pass by the stuffing mix.

pass the stuffing mix but not the stuffing.

Tala's Low Carb Stuffing
1 pkg Atkins Cornbread mix
1/2 to 1 c. water (depending on how moist you like your dressing)
2 stalks celery
1c. broccoli florets, chopped small
1/2 yellow onion, diced (abt. 1/3-1/2 c)
salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the cornbread according tothe package directions. Cool. Crumble into 9x9 greased pan. Add water and veggies, stir well. Add salt and pepper. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, careful not to let it get too dry. Serve with giblet gravy or melt cheddar over it.

I saw a Turkey up close and it was so fricking gross looking, I haven't been able to eat any Turkey since and just eat veggies on Thanksgiving.

If you've never seen a live one from a couple feet away check it out. It turned my stomach instantly and I just could never get that image out of my mind.

Actually, they're not that bad looking when you're killing them and de-feathering them.
