Nuh, I am happy where I am. I wouldn't go back, I can study history if I want to, and I wouldn't go forward cause I would miss all the people that are part of my life.

How big is the time machine? If its big I'd load it up with a truck load of collectible cards, toys, etc and I'd jump 12 years into the future.

You'll need more than that to survive the radioactive, cockroach infested wastelands.

I'd jump ahead to the year 3000 or so... forgoing the need to be frozen at Alcor when I die.

Before I left, I'd stick $100 in a bank account, and change the rest for gold.

If I could bring my cats and birds, and things that will be highly valued in another 400-2000 years(like my dads dentures and my moms gallstones), then heck yes I would be on that time machine.

Ooooh! I'd also hide a barrel of cognac from Napoleons private reserve in a mine somewhere. That stuff ages magnificently!
But it would be my luck that 1000 years from now they will have brought back prohibition and I'll only be able to unload the stuff by donating to a museum as a charitable and cultural gift.

Probably not. i wouldn't know what to expect in the future. It might turn out to be really shitty, and I would be left wondering how or why something happened.

This reminds me of the guy John Titor.

Taken from the website: John Titor Time Machine

Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

One of the first things he did was post pictures of his time machine and its operations manual. As the weeks went by, more and more people began questioning him about why he was here, the physics of time travel and his thoughts about our time. He also posted on other forums including the old Art Bell site. In his posts John Titor entertained, angered, frightened and even belittled those who engaged him in conversation.

On March 24, 2001, John Titor told us he would be leaving our time and returning to 2036. After that, he was never heard from again. Speculation and investigation about who John Titor was and why he was online continues to this day.

Given that time is not constant futuristically - it hasn't been made yet - I'd say that no, I wouldn't. Who knows what future you'd be subjected to? Time is like a rope, the past has been written and is bound into a cohesive tether. The future, however, hasn't been written yet and the strands of time are infinite in how it will unfold. So how does one with a time machine project themselves into the "right" possibility in the future? I'd rather play roulette in Las Vegas than take that craps shoot. Besides, the future doesn't exist yet in our understanding of time and space, so it's moot.
Then again, unless something cataclysmic happened that threatened mankind I wouldn't risk the reprecussions of travelling back in time either. The implications would be too great. Hell, I could erase my very existence if I fucked up in a very minor way.

One day (sic) our existence as a species will evolve to the point that time becomes a stationary constant and we will be able to see it all in a single glimpse. If and when that time (sic) comes then maybe, just maybe we'll be able to "travel" through time and if so we won't need any machines.
