I use the basic ones.. happy, sad... it just helps to convey emotions. Sometimes a 15 character text message doesn't have enough "feel" to it by itself.

I like to take it one step further
when im talking to my friends on ICQ or sometimes even in real life - talking to webmaster friends I find myself saying "graucho" at intervals where I would normally use the graucho smilie --->
