![]() ok, I've tried this before (didn't try real hard though) and had no luck.... but there's gotta be some way to chain 2 routers together to give a total of 8 ports instead of the 4 I'm stuck with on just one router. But I can't figure it out.
I thought one had to be set to be a gateway or something and the other had to be set at something else..... ? connection coming in is DHCP and can't be changed to static, and I thhink that may be part of the problem. The router needs to be on DHCP to distribute connection to the systems..... and I don't thhink they'll run on DHCP coming in and DHCP going back out. anyone know the answer to this puzzle? ![]() |

I'm not sure what equipment you're dealing with, but I'd say it is pretty unlikely that you would be able to cascade DHCP-only devices like that. You'll probably have to attach a switch to your router to aggregate more ports.

it is possible. You lose one port on each router, but it gave me the extra ports I need.
